DAY 01 : Arrive Chennai
(Madras)
Arrive -Madras. Transfer to hotel . night
in hotel .
DAY 02
: Chennai
After
taking rest, visit the city to feel the atmosphere of South India.
Madras has been the first capital of the British Raj. Today it is the
capital of the Tamil Nadu state. You will discover St Mary church, the
oldest Anglican church in Asia, and a fascinating museum,
especially the
bronze hall . Evening stroll on shore
of Bay of Bengal on the long
stretch of sandy Marina
beach , that’s the right place to lost
in
the colourful Indian ambiance . Night in hotel.
DAY 03 - 04 – Chennai – Tirupathi
152 Kms 4 ½ Hrs
Morning
drive to Tirupathi. After check in at hotel, you will visit Thirumala
Balaji temple and Thiruchanur Alarmelu manga temple. Other attractions
are Sri Varahaswami Temple, Teerthams in Tirumala, Sri
Padmavathi
Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanoor, Over night stay in
Tirupathi.
TIRAPUTI :
The holy city is
located in the south-eastern part of Andhra Pradesh,
in
Chittoor district. Known as the abode of the Hindu god
'Venkateshwara', Tirupati is famous for the Venkateswara temple in the
sacred Tirumala hills at an elevation of 860m. One of the
most important
pilgrimage centres in India the temple
draws millions of pilgrims and
is believed to be the
busiest pilgrimage centre in the world. Tirupati
town
itself has several temples and is famous for its red wooden toys,
copper and brass idols
DAY 05 : Tirupathi to Mahabalipuram ,via Kanchipuram 210 Kms kms.
Kanchipuram
is famous for its Kailash Nath
temple, the first Dravidian temple and
the 59 meter high
Akambaranatyh temple which has been built by Pallawas
from 6th to 8th century, and extended by Chollas. The most recent part
of the wall has been added by Vijay Nagar 500 years ago. Evening check

DAY 06 : Mahabalipuram ,
It is a
small
village on the shore of Bay of Bengal, with
somptuous rock carved
temples belonging to the World
Patrimonial. We will discover the very
huge carved relief
representing Ganga descending on Earth, beautiful
temples ,
the Rathas – big stone carved chariots. We will have a stroll
in the village or late afternoon, discover the fishermen coming back
from fishing. night in the hotel .
DAY 07 : Mahabalipuram to Pondichery , 110 kms
.
A
110 km drive, 2.30
hours, will bring you to Pondichery, small and
charming
city on the Bengal sea. It has been the capital of the French
territory until 1954. Visit of this former French territory whose
culture is still intact, where you will discover the European atmosphere
which remains there as well as the big Bazar typically indian. Visit
Sri Aurobindo Ashram , Gandhi’s mark on the see shore ,
discover the
Bazar and Auroville , night in hotel .
DAY 08 : Pondichery-
Chidambaram Tanjore (238 kms)
Chidambaram
is an important destination for followers of the
Hindu god Shiva and
exponent of the fearsome, frenzied
Tandav Nritya or the dance of
destruction. At the centre
of the town is the large Natraj Temple
complex dedicated
to Shiva as the divine dancer or Natraj,
50 km
from Chidambaram is Gangaikondas Cholapuram, at one time the
capital of
the Chola kingdom. It has a Shiva temple that is
noted for its hugeness
and the rich carvings on the walls
of demi-gods in dancing positions. A
huge Nandi bull

DAY 09 : Tanjore
One
of the most brilliant dynasty of South India, the Cholas,
have settled
in Tanjore their capital. We will visit
the large Brihadishwara temple, a
master piece of the
Dravidian art which belongs to the world
patrimonial. This
10th century temple dedicated to Shiva is one of the
rare ones which are opened to the non Hindu people. Visit of the Tanjore
museum, with its admirable collection of bronzes. Evening free , Night
in a hotel .
DAY 10 Tanjore / Trichy 235 kms. 4hours.
Leave
for Trichy located on the banks of the
River Kaveri. Visit famous
Ranganath temple at
Srirangam. On arrival check in the hotel. Later
visit the
Rock Fort Temple, Srirangam and Jambukeshwar Temple. Night in
hotel .
DAY 11
, Trichy -Pudukkottai-Chettinad (133 kms )
Pudukkottai
has an interesting history. Almost every king
ruled this spot and they
contributed some thing or other to
develop the town. The Pandyas,
Cholas, Pallavas,
Haysalas,Nayakas are notable personality who ruled
Pudukkottai. Due to this there are many memorials in Pudukkottai. It
exceeds the culture and tradition of India.Pudukkottai museum at
Thirugokarnam is a souvenir for the lover of arts.
THIRUKATTALAI :
Thirukattalai is 5 km far east from Pudukottai. This is the only temple
in Pudukottai which reminds us the ancient Chola's architectural
pattern. Sundareswarar Temple was built during Adhitha
Cholan's period.
The temple has a shrine and mandap
and around that are seven temples for
angels. The
temple's terrace has images of Thatchinamorrthi,
Pitchadamoorthi, Varagan, Vishnu and Brahma.
In
Kodumballur are two temples namely Muvar Koil and Musukundeshwarar Koil. This
place witnessed many historical wars.
DAY 12 :Chettinad-Madurai (100 km)
After
4.30 hours driving, we reach Madurai. It is one of
the most
extraordinary worship place in India, and the
oldest city in Tamil Nadu.
Its gigantic temple is dedicated
to a female goddess Meenakshi, the
goddess with fish eyes.
One can get lost while visiting number of rooms
and
corridors, discovering the sumptuous sculptured pillars : for sure
the devotion of architecture is deep and interesting. Night in hotel.
DAY 13 : Madurai to Kodaikunal
–120 kms .
Gift
of
the forest, A hill station, at 2133 meters in the Palani Hills,
off-shoot of the Western Ghat Mountain range which runs north-south
along the west coast of peninsular India. Kodaikanal is in Tamilnadu
state, bordering kerala. Night in hotel .
Some important attractions are as famous church,
Christ the King Church”—again, a very
Gothic and
solemn granite structure with stained glass windows
Bryant’s
Park, named after the forest officer who
planned its layout around the
turn of the century. Fairy
Falls ,. Shenbaganur Museum , orchidariums
with more than 300
species of orchids is also located on the premises of
Sacred Heart College.
DAY 14 :Kodaikunal to Madras : 520 kms .
Evening reached at Chennai , Rest time at leisure , night in hotel .
