DAY 01: Arrival
Delhi.
R reception in airport, transfer to the
hotel, O/N in the hotel. (depend on arrival time of international flight)
DAY 02: Delhi to Leh
(3500 m).
Transfer to domestic airport, flight to
Leh, transfer to the hotel, free afternoon, O/N in the hotel.
DAY 03: Visit Shey, Thiksey, Hemis
monasteries
Full day sight-seeing (famous
monasteries in the Ladakh). Back to hotel, O/N in the hotel.
DAY 04: Leh to Kargil - 7-8h - 230 kms.
Start
early morning from the
Leh. Kargil is a distt where the inhabitants are
Muslims,
(both Shea and Soony). It is situated in the valley of Suru on
the left bank of the Suru river. O/N in the hotel.
DAY 05: Kargil to Rangdum (3700 m).
Suru,
one of the most beautiful
valley dominated by Nun-Kun. The route goes
along vast
stretches of uninhabited land and close to the glacier of
Nun-Kun. The broad edelweiss carpeted meadow of Rangdum (Juldu) is the
best for camp.
DAY 06: Rangdum to Padum (3600 m).
After
crossing the seemingly endless plain ,visit the monastery of
Rangdum.
Continue over the Pensila (4400 m). the main gate
way to Zanskar,
providing Spectacular view of Darung-drung
glacier and the chaine of
Zanskar, Trail goes through the
several villages aside the Doada river.
Visit Sainy gompa
on the way. Padum a administrative headquarter of
Zanskar
sub-division of Kargil distt With the exception of Padum where
40 percent of the population is Muslim and rest are Budhist. o/n in camp
at Padum.
DAY 07: Padum to Rinam (3500 m) - 6 hours - Trek 1
From
Padum head toward the Pipting, then dusty plain
toward the Doda river;
visit the Karsha Monastery, a
beautiful Gelugpa monastery dating from
the XVth century,
in common with the Likkir gompa in Leh and Kamoling
Gompa, owes allegiance to Kushok Ngari Tsang whose head-quarters are
located in Tibet. continue to the camp site at Rinam out of the
village.
DAY 08:
Rinam to Pishu (3400 m) 3 hours, via Jangla - 6 hours - Trek 2
Flate
trail beside the Zanskar river, visit
Zangla village a ancient capital
of Zanskar, ruin of castle
and Nunery can be visited, small gompa in the
village in
family house shifted from the old fort houses some old
Thanka and statues. After visiting this village back to the beautiful
camp site of Pishu.
DAY 09: Pishu to Hanumil (3550 m) - 5 hours - Trek 3
Moranic
track leading up and down, Crossing a bridge over
stream. Colorful
Chorten appear before arriving in the
village, explore the Pidmo
village. 2 hours walk till
campsite of Hanumil.
DAY 10: Hanumil to Snertse (4200 m) over Parfila (3900 m) - 6 hours - Trek
4
Trail
goes through
cliffy track, graduel climb to the Parfila, Steep zig zag
descend to the riverside and refresh yourself beside the river under
Willow shrub. Again dusty and sunny trail will leads to the campsite,
Occasionally One can see the Ibex (Mountain goat) grazing on the
slope
in front of camp.
DAY 11: Snertse to Lingshed (3800 m)over
Hanumala (4700 m) - 7 hours - Trek 5
Gradual
ascend through gorges, later valley get widen. Reached at
the top
provide extensive view of the rugged Himalayan
mountains layered one
after one. Long descend to the
Lingshed, establish the camp and visit
monastery of
(Gelugpa sect).
DAY 12: Lingshed to Yulchun gyra (4500 m)Trek starts over Murgum la (4100 m) -
Trek 6
One
hour easy climb to
the Murgumla, enjoy the view around, easy descend
along the
slope to the beautiful Nieraq valley, After passing Gongma and
Skiumpata villages steep ascent to the Kuba–la (3800 mtrs) and easy
walk to the campsite.
DAY 13: Yulchungyra to Phutoksar (3750 m) - 7 hours - Trek 7
Two
hours to reach at the top of Singee la (5000 m).
short descend to the
broad valley, herds of Yak can be
seen, Several time river crossing,
later reached at Phutoksar
a Splended village at the base of a huge
mountain wall.
Campsite out of the village.
DAY 14: Phutoksar to Hanupata (3500 m) - 6 hours Trek 8
Easy
walk in Beginning and after steep climb
take you to the Sirsila (4900
m) Descend to the river
bank, farmers can be seen cultivating in their
fields (
Peas and Barley etc) Camp site located before the village on
the bank of stream.
DAY 15: Hanupata to Wanla (3300 m) - 5 hours - Trek 9
Across
the village, steep gorgeous path cut in to the
rocks, getting out from
the gorge and arrive Franjila
village. Pleasant walk through the
villages till wanla,
Monastery can be visited a top of the hill, night
in camp
DAY 16: Wanla
to Lamayuru (3600 m) over Pritink la (3800 m) - Trek 10
Go
up to the Shilacong and cross the bridge, follow the broad
chhorten
then narrow and dry gorge up to the Pritink la,
again descend and cross
the small stream, climb to the
village of Lamayuru. Visit the monastery
and camp.
DAY 17: Lamayuru to Leh
(3500 m)
Join the morning puja and continue to the
beautiful Alchi village, visit the monastery and further drive to Leh. O/N in
hotel.
DAY 18:
Visit Stok Palace and Spituk monastery.
Afternoon
get back and rest time at leisure, night in hotel.
DAY 19: Explore Leh.
Visit monastery in the town, Shanti stupa and old fort of Leh. O/N in hotel,
DAY 20: Leh–Delhi
flight.
Transfer to the domestic air port, flight
to Delhi. Transfer from airport to Hotel, afternoon at leisure. O/N in hotel.
DAY 21: Departure:
Visit old or new Delhi
(Full day sight seeing).
evening transfer to International airport for Flight to onward destination.
