Your journey, day by day :
DAY 1: Arrival Delhi
Reception at the airport, generally in the evening, transfer and at night in the
hotel.
DAY 2:
Delhi - Manali (2 000 m.), (570 Km – 14H by night bus
After
the breakfast, you leave visiting old
Delhi, high minaret of Qutab, the
biggest mosque of India
“Jama Masjid", the Red Fort. Stroll rickshaw
(Vespa taxi) between the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Lunch and transfer in
the afternoon to the point of departure of the bus. At night in the bus
which crosses the states of Haryana and Punjab among the
most fertile
of the entire subcontinent. At night in
the bus.
DAY 3:
Manali:
Arrival,
in the
morning, to Manali. Reception at the bus station and transfer to
the hotel. Visit of the Old Manali and the stroll in the village to
discover this beautiful traditional architecture, made by wood and by
stones. Continuation towards the temple of Hadimba accommodated in
the
heart of a forest of cedars, the temple of Shiva
and the Tibetan
monastery in the town. Free time in the
afternoon. At night in the
hotel.
DAY 4: Manali - Lossar (4 050 m.), (6/7H by road)
The
road from Manali raises the left bank of the river
Beas, crossing
several villages before beginning the long
rise in laces which leads to
the Rothang pass, crossing
magnificent breasts and meadows of wild
flowers. At the
pass (3 950m), we can observe during summer the Indian
tourists come to see and touch the snow, harnessed by woollen coats and
by rubber boots rented for the day! We can especially contemplate the
fantastic view, by clear weather, over the chain of Chandra-Bhaga
(C.B)
on the other side of the pass. Descent to the
first village of Spiti,
Lossar. Visit of the monastery and
it village. At night it guest-house
or home stay.
DAY 5: Lossar - Kibber
(4 200 m), (50 Km- 2H by road)
The
road from Lossar crosses several hamlets of which Morang where from we
have a beautiful view on the monastery of Kye. Gone up to the monastery
Gelugpa of Kye perched on a pyramidal rock peak. Then
stroll in the
village of Kibber, considered as being the
highest village of the
accessible world by the road
reputation which it will soon be necessary
to leave for the
benefit of his neighbour Gete! Kibber has a population
of
some 220 souls, most farmers of barley, wheat and peas. At night it
guest-house or home stay.
DAY 6: Kibber - Tashigang via Gete (4 300 m), (4H by walk)
TREK 1
The
trek begins in the high region of Spiti, on a drawn road and through
fields. Visit of the attractive hamlet of Gete with its some houses. We
continue for 45 min until Tashigang. In the evening, we
visit one of the
families in the village. At night in home
stay.
DAY 7:
Tashigang - Langza (4 100 m), (4H30 by walk)
TREK 2
The
day begins with a
regular path followed by a descent of 30 min leading
us
to the bed of the river Shila Nalla. We recommend leaving early to
cross the river in good conditions. Arrival at Langza after a long
ascent. At night in home stay.
(To note: If
it is impossible
to cross the river, we shall be in the
obligation to return towards the
road to look for a mode of
transport, either walk longer that planned to
arrive at
Langza.)
DAY 8: Langza - Komic (4 500 m) via Hikkim (3H by walk)
TREK 3
The
day starts with an easy walk. Along the way, visit of the village of
Hikkim, then after 30 min walk, arrival at Komic, famous for its
monastery, one of the highest of the world, and for its fossils. After
the lunch, the stroll in search of fossils. In the
evening, possibility
to meet inhabitants to observe
their lifestyle. At night in home stay.
DAY 9: Komic - Damul (4 150 m), (4H de marche)
TREK 4
In
the
morning, we attend the ceremony of Puja to the monastery. Then we
leave on a path without any trouble with breath-taking views on the
surrounding mountains. At the end, the path comes down gradually to the
village. At night in guest house or home stay.
DAY 10: Damul - Lalung (3 800
m), (5H by walk)
TREK 5
We
come down by a very stiff path in the valley of Lingti to
go back up to
the village of Lalung where we visit one
of the most interesting
monasteries of Spiti. The local
tradition tells that the monastery was
established of a
set of nine temples with an inside of an exceptional
wealth. The construction of the temple is attributed to Rinchen Zangpo.
At night in guest house or home stay.
Day 11: Lalung - Dhankar (3H by walk) - Tabo (30 Km – 1H
by road)
TREK 6
Three
hours of trek up to the magnificent site of
Dhankar, the former capital
of king of the Spiti where there
is a gompa perched at the top of the
cliff. Visit of
the monastery and walk in the village. Possibility to
continue towards the small lake of Dhankar (3/4H round trip) to have a
magnificent view on the Spiti and Pin Valley. END OF the TREKKING.
Transfer in jeep up to the monastery of Tabo by Schilling. At night it
guest house.
TABO MONASTERY :
Tabo monastery has
been founded in 996 often called the Ajanta of
Himalayas.
In Trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo sanctity is next only to
Tibet’s Tholing gompa.
DAY 12: Tabo - Kaza via Pin Valley (70 Km – 2/3H by road)
Transfer
to Guling in the valley of
Pine, famous for the wealth of its fauna and
its flora.
Visit of the monastery of Kungri, centre of the Nyingma
sect. This monastery established, according to the legend, by Guru
Padmasambhava. Contrary to the compact architecture of the Tibetan
monasteries generally where temples and apartments are in the same
buildings, the monastery of Kungri is constituted by a suite of
rectangular blocks, the architecture of which is typical of the period
of Rinchen Zangpo. Road for Kaza, the administrative centre of the
district. At night in guest house.
DAY 13: Kaza - Manali (180 Km – 8/9H by road)
Back
to Manali, taking the same
road as at first. However, due to an
exceptional
lighting effect, you will have the impressionto discover new
landscapes. Installation and at night in the hotel.
DAY 14: Manali – Delhi (14h by night
bus)
Free day in Manali. Transfer in the
afternoon to take the bus towards Delhi. At night in the bus.
DAY 15: Delhi – International
airport
Reception
at Delhi
bus stand and transfer to the hotel. The afternoon, discover
the capital. Visit of Bhai Temple, Humayun Tomb, then spare time for the
shopping (possible to be accompanied by your guide). Rendezvous for the
dinner and then transfer to the international airport to
take your
flight return.
Departure: From two persons onward
Size of the group: minimum 2 persons, maximum 14

For the good progress of this circuit, we draw particularly your
attention on the following points:
- The Indians do not enter with their shoes houses. They leave
them outside.
- The meals will be served in a
traditional way. It is necessary to begin to eat when everybody is served.
- We do not touch the flatware of service if we eat with
fingers. Possibility of eating with flatware …

We do not get up from the table as long as everybody did not finish eating
- Each is going to wash
itself hands alternately …
- Everybody will
sleep in the same room some evenings.
- The
kisses in public are not tolerated.
- Toilet can be
outside of the house. There is no shower but some
warm water for the toilet.

sharing moments of user-friendliness
