DAY 01: Leh (3600 m).
Arrival Leh: After breakfast Visit by
foot to the monastery in the town: Shanti stupa at hill behind the Leh town: and
old fort dominating the town of Leh.: Lunch break and afternoon stroll in town.
O/N in hotel.
DAY 02: Visit Shey, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries.50
kms.
Full day sight-seeing: Early morning
departure to join the morning puja at Thiksey monastery and further to Shey and
Hemis monastery. Back to Leh for overnight stay.
Day 03: Leh to LAmayuru
via Likir (3500m) 80km.
Leave to the west
of Leh: reached Likkir: Visit Monastery located on the top of village. After
visiting monastery continue to Lamayuru : visit monastery:: one can participat
the evening puja in monastery: night in guest house at Lamayuru.
Day 4/5:
Lamayuru to Dah-Hanu -71 kms.
Drive along the
Indus river: afternoon reach at Dunkhar: later visit village: night in Local
house/Guest house:
DROKHPA AREA: Is along the Indus
river. Main villages are Dhunkar, Tirit, Skurbuchan, Hanudo, Biama, and Dha on the
road to Baltistan. Inhabitants called Drokhpa, belong to the purest Aryan race.
They are tall, handsome and hospitable. Drokhpas are belived to have migrated to
this area via Gilgit around thousands years ago from central Asia. They are
different with a large, beautiful eyes, sharp,equiline nose. The men, women and
children wear heavy metallic earrings.
Most of these villages are dominated by Muslims with colorful
mosques and a very few Buddhist houses with small Gompas.Stroll in Biama and 2
kms. trek to Dah : Afternoon cross the Indus to Balrase village. Leave to Dah
enroute visit several villages Skurbuchan with apricot orchards:Achinathang and
Biama famous for pashmina: sheep breeding: handicrafts center.. night in guest
house or in family house.
DAY 06 Dah-Hanu to Leh via Alchi and Phyang: 140
kms.
Vist the oldest monastery of LAdakh:
further drive to Leh via visiting the phyang monastery: night in hotel at Leh.
DAY 07: Leh to Diskit via Khalsar: 145 kms. Nubra
Valley.
Over Khardungla pass.
Uphill drive to reach on the top of highest motor able pass:
This scenic highest point of the tour is the gate way to the Nubra valley and
further to Siachin: descend to Khalsar and to Diskit a district headquarter of
Nubra valley.Visit monastery and town: O/N in guest house or
fix camp.
NUBRA: Lines up to its name as evinced by the numerous orchards of apple
and Apricots. It is reached by crossing the Khardung-la pass.Many adventurer
crossed it over, by cars, buses, jeeps and by mountain bike for the sake of
adventure. The beautiful
fertile valley once was an
important halting place for the caravans of old silk route. There are two main
rivers through the valley: Shyok and Nubra. Climate is much better than Leh. 90%
of the population is Buddhist and rest are Muslim community
people.
DAY 08 : Diskit to Panamik ( 3232 mtrs )120 kms.
Drive early to Panamik: on the way visit Tirit village,
a centre of handicrafts, wool and jewellery Continue to a large settlement at
the bank of the Nubra ( Panamik ),Visit Panamik, the hot sulpher spring water, On
can take bath: Visit the 250 years
old Samour gompa: O/N in
guest house or camp.
DAY 09: Panamik to Leh: 185 kms.
Same way back: afternoon free to explore the town or at leisure . O/N
in hotel.
DAY 10: Leh to Lukung: Pangong (4298 mtrs.) 154 kms. One
way
Drive via Taru: Tangtse and Changla pass (
5183mtrs. ).back to leh O/N in hotel. Pangong lake : This lake is situated in
Nyoma region of Tchang-Thang in the eastern sector of Ladakh. from Leh across
Changla pass ( 5183 mtrs. ) this lake is
one of largest and
most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the country. It is around 120 kms long:
one third of its portion lies in Indian territory and rest in Chinese Occupied
Tibet. . .
DAY 11: Leh.
Day at
leisure: stroll in the town: night in hotel.
DAY 12: Departure.
Transfer to domestic airport at Leh for your onward flight, end of
service.
