Garhwal Himalaya ( Uttranchal ) is situated on thenorth of India and border with 2
country , Tibet on its North –east and Nepal on South –east.
This is one of the most beautiful mountainous and holy region in the Asian
sub- continent as “The land of birth of Ganga’’is a holiest river of India , here thousands of pilgrim’s and Sadhu’s visit to the holy places
rewarding both visually and spiritually .
It is land of myth like lord Shiva and its Worship is predominant in this region .The first
recorded name of the region was Kartipur , Later on , since it is surrounded by the mountain from all side it came to be known as Giri – avil , which
latter got transformed in Garhwal .
The typical tribesmen of Garhwal are Bhutias who are considered to be the best mountain climbers .
They are different from the Tibetans and resident Hindus.. peoples living in the lap of isolated valleys are Farmer , Gaily dressed with shining smile on
faces , The silver mountains , the sparkling streams , vivid green valley and holy shrines attract the people from all our the world
