Day 01: Arrival in Delhi,
Reception in the airport, transfer to the hotel, O/N in hotel.
Day 02: Departure
to Amritsar,by train, check in hotel, visit the city, O/N in hotel.
Amritsar: City has founded in 1577 by Ram Dass, the
fourth Guru of the Sikh. It is the centre of the Sikh religion and the major
city of Punjab state where the majority of Sikh lives. The name Amritsar
translates as "Pool of nectar" the name of the sacred pool by which
the Sikh Golden temple is built.
Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion is in
the centre of old part of town > The temple itself is surrounded by the lake
which gave the town its name, causeway connects the temple in the middle of the
pool and loudspeaker broadcasts a continuous reading of the Granth Sahib in
Punjabi.The high priest of sikh who reads the holy book sits on the east side
of the temple. The original copy of the Granth Sahib is kept in the golden
temple and is occasionally taken out on procession.
Pilgrims and visitors to the golden temple must remove their shoes and cover
their head before entering the temple precincts.
Laxmi-Narayan temple: A large temple in
the centre of a lake is dedicated to Lakshi-Narayan. here are number of mosque
in the old city including the mosque of Muhammand jan with three white domes
and splendor minars. Govindgarh fort to the south west of city which was built
in1805
Indo-
Pak Border (Bagha Border) to watch retreat ceremony-30 KM on the road
toLahore is India-Pakistan Border. A visit to the border is an interesting
experience especially at Sunset, when the retreat ceremony takes place with the
Border Security Force on the Indian Side and the Sutlej Rangers on the
Pakistanside putting up a well coordinated and spectacular display. The sound from
the Bugles blown together from both sides paints past on the canvas when India and
Pakistan were one, simultaneously Flags of the two nations are ceremoniously
retrieved and lights are switched on marking the end of the day. Amidst thunderous
applause today this point is the only land route open to approach Pakistanand
central Asia.Return to hotel in the afternoon.
Day 03:Amritsar to
Dharamsala, 190 km, 6 hours.
Afternoon check in
hotel evening stroll in the crowd of Indo -Tibetan mixed culture in the street
of Mecleodganj.night n hotel.
Day 04: Visit Dharamsala, (1830m.)
A former colonial retreat, Mcleodganj rose to prominance after the large
scale exodus of Tibetan from their homeland in 1959. It is a residence of (OCEAN
OF TRANQUILITY) His Holiness the Dalai Lama with the backdrop of the majestic
Dhauladhar mountains. The Tibetan
government in exile has
been based here for over three and half decades. With traditional architecture
designs drawn from Tibet the impressive Namgyal monastery is surrounded by row of
prayer wheels and houses large life images of the Budha, admasambhava
and Avalokteshwara. if time permit Tibetan handicraft centre can be
visited,
Day 05: Dharam Sala to Palampur,
(via Kangra) Brijeshwari temple, Kangra fort and Musroor. Kangra is an old town
where you will visit following temples and fort in ruin.
Brijeshwari temple was a rich temple, but the invaders looted all the goods from
the temple. In 1009, Mohamed Gajani took with him fabulous gold, silver and stone
treasure. In 1360 Tuglaq has stolen the temple, but after Jahangir reign, it has
been covered by silver
pieces. In 1905 earth quake which
destroyed completely. It has been rebuilt again. A fort in ruin in Kangra
dominated to the Banner and Manghi. This has been invaded by the Mohamed again,
Jahangir took it again and in 1620 again destroyed by the
earthquake. Jawalaji, 34 km south of Kangra in Beas valley.
The fort is situated on a precipitous cliff over hanging the Ban Ganga and Manjhi
rivers. The ruins still dominate the the Kangra valley. One can enter the fort by
a narrow path, It was protected by a number of gates named after its winner like,
Jehangir, Ranjit singh and the British, At the top of the fort there was the
palace of
the Katoch kings. The Kangra fort was the seat of
power of the Katoch Rajas from the time of its 234th Raja, Raja Susharma Chand
Katoch, if not from the time of its first legendary Raja, Raja Bhoomi Chand
Katoch onwards. It is said to be founded b Susharma
Chand Katoch, an ally of Kaurvas in the
Mahabharata war. It was the ancient capital of katoch kingdom and symbol of power
in the Punjab hill states.15 km south of Kangra, Masroor owns 15 temples carved in
the rock in Indo-Aryan style, and linked with famous Ellora temple in
Maharashtra.
Palampur, avenue by the pine - cedar this beautiful hill resort, situated
on the foot hill of Dhauladhar, with mild climate, tea gardens with irrigation
cannels, and lovely bungalows give its character of its owns. Dhauladhar range
provide panoramic view of
snowy ranges. The Nigal gorge 305
m wide yawing chasm through which roaring water of Bundla stream flows, is a rare
sight during the monsoon. Main street of Palampur which is always crowded with a
variety of people including Gaddi (Shepherds ) and gaily attired Gaddies women.
Day 06: Palampur to Rewalsar, Mandi, 137 km. O/N in simple
guest house.
Visit Tea garden in Palampur and
Shiva temple in Baijnath, continue to ewalsar.
Baijnath, 16 kms from Palampur. It is a famous for its temples which bear
inscription fated A.D. 804, dedicated to Vaidhyanath. The temples are built in
the Shikhera style and are remarkable for their proportion and architectural
beauty.
Rewalsar
(POOL OF ANCIENT WISDOM ) is like a Dark jewel on a wooded hillside, the sacred
lake is identified as the sahar of yore Legend is that, this is a place from where
Padma sambhava left for Tibet to spread the word of the Budha in the 8th century
A.D.
There are three
monasteries around the lake. Though rebuilt, the oldest one belongs to the
Nyingmapa order and appropriately its central image is Padmasambhava adorned
with prayer flags. The lake has tinny islands of floating reed in which the
spirit of
Padaymasambhava is said to be embodied.
Mandi is an important town of H.P. and the gateway of the Kullu
valley. The earliest known ruler of Mandi and sukat was Dhirsen (AD765) who had
come from Bengal and after defeating the Ranas and Thakurs of the areas
established a kingdom for himself.
It is said that sage Mandavaya performed a long penance here from whom the
town takes its name. It is know for its aesthetically carved shikhara style
temples of Bhootnath, Triloknath, Panchvakra and Shyamakali at Tarna hill. The new
Tarna Devi temple overlooking the valley, is also located here. Mandi is
strategically situated at the meeting point of the roads from Chandigarh and
Pathankot., night in hotel.
Day 07: Mandi to Manali, (1900 m.) 100 km.
Kullu Situated in the inner range of Himalaya, valley is
more than 16 km as the crow flies from the foot hills that edge the plain of
northern India and barely 80 km from the plateau of Tibet. It is famous for apple
orchards, pine trees and its cheerful peoples, It is a valley of hundred of
temples and deities, so it is called the valley of God. The Aryans gave the
name to this valley is Kulantpitha, means " the end of the habitable
world".
Day 08: First day Initiation and introduction of Yoga at Shri
Hari Ashram Pranaya,
Asana for 2 hours, back to
hotel for breakfast. Later local sight seeing. Visit Old Manali village, 3 km from
the new Manali up temples on the hill, is said to be founded by sage Manu.
Hadimba temple, About one km from the Manali stands the pagoda
style temple of Hadimba Devi surrounded by the cedar forest in Dhungri.
According to the legend, Bhima one of the Pandava' s brother fell in love
with an aboriginal woman named Hadimba, the sister of local chief by the name
of Hadimba and married her.
Lunch break at 13h.free
time, after 3 hours proceed for evening session of Pranayam and Meditation till
late evening for 2 hours.
Day 09: Demonstration and Practice of Asanas,
Pranayama.
Breakfast, sight seen to
vashisht, 3 km after crossing the Beas river ancient temple dedicated to sage
Vashisht. The sulphur hot spring of Vashist are endowed with healing power. After
lunch join evening session of meditations, Asana, meditation Silence sitting,
Yoga therapy and discussion.
Day 10: Practice of Yoga,
Morning practice Pranayam & Asana,
After breakfast sight seen to Nagar castle an ancient capital of Kullu Raja
till A.D. 1660, now converted in to hotel, overlooks the entire Beas valley.
Art gallery. Ancient temples of Tripura sundari and Shiva, if time permit
the way back at Jagatsukh an ancient Shikhra style shiva temple and Gaitri
Devi temple can be visited, By evening join evening session of Yoga,
meditation Silence sitting , Yoga therapy and discussion.
Day 11: Yoga
Practice
Morning Yoga
Practice/demonstration, Breakfast, free day, evening , evening session Answer
and question. evening free, night in hotel.
Day 12: Manali to Delhi:16 hours, 570

Free Morning, afternoon transfer to bus
station, by evening bus to Delhi, night in bus.
