Rajasthan India
LAND OF MAHARAJA
Rajasthan, country of Maharajas represents India in its most colored and exotic aspects with the houses of Princes Rajputs, an exotic atmosphere and of magnificent palaces. The men wear traditionally an enormous turban of lively color and the women are dressed in brilliant and colored skirts.

Geographically, Rajasthan is a dry and inhospitable place. A line in diagonal of the southwest in the northeast divides the state into two: on one hand, the uneven South and on the other hand, the est/nord-est region with the sterile desert of Thar, which extends beyond the border to Pakistan.

Rajasthan cultivates the tradition of the miniature, influenced by the style Mohgol which expresses itself on the facades of the elegant palaces of Rajputs ceux - this were built after the region was freed from the yoke of Mohgols.

There are many sites of the 10th in the 15th century among which temples Jaïn de Ranakpur and of Jaiselmer; most of the big forts are leaders of work dating the period of mohgols. Rajasthan also celebrates numerous festivals Indian as the festival of harvest of Gangaur, particularly mattering, and Teej, at the end of August or the beginning of September. There are so many fairs, the most known being doubtless the immense fair colored with cattle of Pushkar, in November.
