You will cross the border
through a lush

Your journey, day per day:
DAY 1:
Arrival in Chennai
Reception
at the Chennai airport, usually late
in the night and transfer to
hotel. After a rest, visiting the city to start
soaking up the
atmosphere of South India. Madras was the capital of a British
province.
Today it is the state capital of Tamil Nadu. You'll find the
church of
St Mary, the oldest Anglican Church in India and a fascinating
museum,
especially its private bronze. In the evening, stroll along the Bay of
Bengal, along the sandy coast of "Marina beach," a true place to
find
the colourful atmosphere of India. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 2: Chennai - Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram (140 Km – 3/4H by road)
Kanchipuram
is one of the seven sacred cities of India. It was
the capital of the
great Dravidian kingdoms (Pallava, Chola ...). Known as the
city of 1000
temples, it still has all the same not less than 125. It attracts
many
pilgrims and tourists. The two major currents of Hinduism, Shaivism and
Vishnuism are represented equally. Dedicated to Shiva and said to be the
most beautiful temple of Kanchipuram, the temple of Kailasanathar was
built
in the seventh century. As for the temple of Ekambaranatharis, it
is one of
the oldest temples in Kanchipuram and also the largest (9
hectares). It is
from far with its gigantic gopura top of 57 meters. Its
name comes from the
mango tree which is in and who is, apparently,
dating back 3 500 years.
Mahabalipuram is a small village on the Bay
of Bengal, home to temples
carved into the rock, World Heritage of
UNESCO. You will discover the huge
fresco of the Ganges down to earth
and beautiful temples, Rathas (palanquins
large carved in stone) and
sculptures. Walk through the village and then in
the late afternoon, it
is interesting to mingle with the crowd eagerly awaits
the return of the
fishermen. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 3 :
Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (110 Km – 2/3H by road)
In
the morning drive to Pondicherry, a former French colony until 1954,
and
charming sea side resort of the way, stop in and visit to the
Auroville ashram
of Sri Aurobindo, known worldwide. When it opened, on
February 28th , 1968, in
the presence of the President of the Republic
of India and representatives
from 124 countries, each poured a handful
of soil from his native soil in an
urn as a sign of universal
brotherhood. Continuation and transfer to hotel.
Visit the former French
colony which has preserved its European ambiance of
yesteryear just
steps away from the typical Indian bazaar. In the evening, why
not
indulge in a game of bowls followed by a stroll on the seafront.

DAY 4 : Pondicherry - Tanjore via
Chidambaram (180 Km – 4/5H by road)
Chidambaram
is an
important destination for followers of Shiva celebrated by
Hindusin its dance
called Natraj. The Temple, in the centre of the city,
50 km from Chidambaram,
is Gangaikondas Cholapuram, former capital of
the Chola kingdom. There is a
temple dedicated to Shiva remarkable for
the greatness of its frescoes and its
wealth of sculptures of demigods
in dancing postures. A huge buffalo Nandi
guards the entrance. Continue
to Tanjore, one of the greatest dynasties in the
history of South India,
that of the Cholas who made this city the capital of
their kingdom.

DAY 5: Tanjore -
Trichy (60 Km – 2H by road)
In
the morning you will visit
the great temple of Brihadishwara, a
masterpiece of Dravidian art, World
Heritage Site. The temple dates from
the 10th century and dedicated to Shiva is
one of the few open to
non-Hindus. Visit the museum and its collections
Thanjavur bronze. Then
depart for Trichy situated on the banks of the river
Kaveri. You will
discover the famous temple dedicated to Ranganath. Check into
your hotel
and visit Rock Fort Temple, Srirangam Temple and Jambukeshwara.

DAY 6 : Trichy - Madurai (140 Km
– 3/4H by road)
After
breakfast, you will reach the city of
Madurai, one of the most
extraordinary places of worship in India and one of
the oldest cities of
Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi
with
fish-shaped eyes are huge. You can get lost in the maze of rooms and
corridors, admiring the many pillars richly carved and coloured.
Opportunity
to stroll the streets of the city to discover picturesque
markets with
thousands of scents and colours. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 7
: Madurai Festival
The
Madurai Float Festival is a spectacular
scene to behold. The deities
are taken in golden palanquins escorted by
elephants and horses richly
decorated, with musicians and devotees who sing
all the way from the
main temple at the lake, until dawn. The procession stops
at the shore
of the lake and the deities are brought to a Mandapa (makeshift
raft).
Devotees throng in thousands to offer their prayers and the morning
cold
of winter seems to have no effect on their faith. The most spectacular
view of the festival is during the evening when the lake water is filled
with
thousands of oil lamps floating. The thoughts expressed on the
lake like a
mirror image of the stars shining in the night sky.

DAY 8 : Madurai – Thekaddy (140 Km – 5H y road)
Spectacular
drive today will lead Tamil Nadu in Kerala, through
the hills of
Western Gath, to the town of Thekkady, gateway to the Periyar
National
Park. Transfer to the hotel. Thekkady is a popular tourist
destination
in the state of Kerala. The landscape is dominated by parks among
the
most important of the country. In the afternoon, stroll through the
spice gardens and tea plantations. Overnight at hotel.
DAY
9: Peryiar National Park
Periyar
National Park is located near a
large and picturesque lake in the heart
of the reserve. This watershed, which
was formed after the construction
of a dam in 1895, is surrounded by wooded
hills. It represents a
permanent resource of water, valuable for any wildlife
in the area. More
than 260 bird species have been identified, but the park is
also home
to tigers (very discreet) and elephants, and many snakes. Walking
tour
in the jungle early in the morning with a local guide and at the end of
afternoon, boat trip on the lake. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10 : Thekkady – Alleppey (120 Km – 4H by road)
In
the morning, en route to Alleppey and change of scenery! Leaving the
cool of the mountains to join an atmosphere of beaches and coconut
palms.
Boarding on a houseboat. These mythical boats of Kerala have
travelled in
history. Formerly, the traditional boats used to transport
rice and other
commodities. Today, we cannot imagine a holiday in Kerala
without a cruise on a
houseboat or Kettuvallam. These "houseboats",
which are the heritage
of Kerala, testify to the artistry and
meticulousness of Kerala. House-boats,
which usually reach a length of
24 meters, are built with planks of wood
connected by a rope made of
coconut fibre. Not a single nail is used to
manufacture! The boat is
then painted with black resin derived from cashewnut
shells that serve
boiled protective coating. This is a unique experience than
be
transported with the currents, watching this film permanent scrolling
before your eyes. Many birds will accompany you during this journey.
Walk
into the villages in the middle of rice fields and coconut trees.

DAY 11 : Allepey – Kochi (55 Km – 1H
by road)
After
breakfast on board, back on earth! Departure for
Kochi, located between
the Sea of Oman and a group of small islands. This city
was then a
Portuguese territory on the prosperous Dutch Silk Road and spices.
It is
a magical place where you walk the old streets, visit the Church of St.
Francis, the synagogue, Dutch Palace, and from which you will rub the
fishermen using a very unique fishing technique, using huge nets to
balance.
A free afternoon to discover by yourself the antique shops and
wholesalers of
spice. Before dinner, you sat at the famous show
Khatakali. Overnight at
hotel.
DAY 12 : Kochi - Varkala (170 Km – 4/5H by
road)
Transfer
in the morning, towards the magnificent beaches of
Varkala, to the
hotel and free time to savour the joys of swimming. In the
evening,
stroll through the surrounding villages. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 13 and 14 :Varkala
Two
days of relaxation,
discovery of the surrounding villages. You can rent
bikes on site. Stroll by
the sea, tasting of fish and shellfish ... Let
you be tempted by an Ayurveda
massage ... Overnight at hotel.
DAY 15 : Varkala -
Trivandrum (50 Km – 1H by road) – International airport
Depending on your flight back, transfer to the Trivandrum International Airport.
