PILGRIMAGES ON THE GANGA RIVER
This circuit will allow you to discover the essential sites and the major places of pilgrimage of the Indian subcontinent. Since Delhi, you will take the train for Allahabad, mythical place where takes place every 12 years the Kumbha mela festival which gathers millions of Indian believers on the banks of the Ganges. Farther, along the sacred river, you will not miss to become soaked with the popular fervour on the ghats of Varanasi (Bénarès). Varanasi is the oldest, multiyear city of the world according to some, which shelters tens of temples and places of history surroundings, as Sarnath where the Buddha had the illumination more than 2500 years ago. In Varanasi, the rites of million believers give rhythm to the everyday life of the city. In some km you will visit the famous temples sculptured by Khajurhao, the palaces and the temples of Orchha built under the reign of Bundela in the XVIème-XVIIème century, the city of Gwalior or been born Masetro, classic Miya Tansen Master of music. A journey which would remain incomplete without a visit in Taj mahal to Agra, palace of the Amur built by Shah Jahan in homage to his dead wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Your journey day by day :

DAY 01: Arrive Delhi:
Arrive Delhi & transfer to your hotel. Overnight Delhi.

DAY 02: Delhi - Allahabad (Train): Explore Delhi
Morning after breakfast proceed for Full day sightseeing tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi to include Bahai Temple & the Qutab Minar, India's largest Mosque the Jama Masjid and Red Fort, Evening after dinner transfer to New Delhi Railway Station to board your Night
Train to Allahabad. Overnight Train.

DAY 03: Allahabad:
Early Morning arrive Allahabad at 0920 hrs & transfer to your hotel. Hindu mythology Lord Brahma, the creator God chose a land on earth, on which the three rivers would flow in to a quiet confluence. And referred to it as `Tirth Raj' or the `king of all pilgrimage centres'. And formerly called Prayag raj the confluence of Ganga and Yamuna known for its Kumbha mela, A third mythical Saraswati river, believed to flow underground towards the Sangam, gives the confluence its other name 'Triveni', O/N allahabad.

DAY 04: Allahabad/Varanasi
Early morning (Sunrise time) visit the Sangam Ghat, at this point the shallow, muddy Ganges meets the clearer, deeper, green Yamuna.The most propitious time of all happens only every 12 years when the massive Kumbh Mela takes place. Later visit the Hanuman temple.

The oldest city in the world, the city of Nirvana and Ghats where people still have their daily prayers and rituals, Temples and centuries old culture. Rarely does any place influence the life of a religious community in such totality as Varanasi, an ultimate pilgrimage, This eternal city is one of the most important pilgrimage cities of the world. visit the Ghats. Participate in evening Arti. The city is reputed for silk fabrics, art and culture. It has produced great poets. writers, musicians and scholars..O/N Varanasi.

DAY 05: Varanasi-Sarnath-Varanasi
Sunrise boat ride on the river Ganges and later city tour of Varanasi, visit Vishwanath Temple. The gold plating on the Shikharas was a gift of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1835. On account of this it is popularly known as Golden Temple. Explore Bazar. Afternoon excursion to Sarnath, here Lord Buddha preached his first sermon more than 2500 years ago. The site is marked by the massive Dhamek Stupa which is believed to date back to 500 AD. The remains of the great Ashoka Pillar still stand before the main shrine. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 06: Varanasi/Khajuraho (40 mnts Flight):
Morning transfer to domestic airport to board your flight to Khajuraho Afternoon arrive Khajuraho, check into your hotel. Afternoon sight seeing tour of temples, the Khajuraho temples were built in the short span of a hundred years, from 950 - 1050 AD, in a truly inspired burst of creativity. Of the 85 original temples, 22 have survived till today to constitute one of the world's great artistic wonders. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 07: Khajuraho:
Morning after breakfast proceed for half day sightseeing of Some of the famous temples of Kandariya Mahadev, Chausath Yogini, Chitragupta, Vishwanath, Lakshamana, Duladeo, Chaturbhuj and Parsvanath. Evening free at leisure. Overnight Khajuraho.

DAY 08: Khajuraho/Orchha (180 kms):
Drive to Orchha, was founded in the 16th century by the Bundela Rajput chieftain,. Of the succeeding rulers the most notable was Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo who built the exquisite Jehangir Mahal, In the Laxminarayan Temple and Raj Mahal, vibrant murals encompassing a variety of religious and secular themes.Post lunch sightseeing of Orchha visit the Jehangir Mahal & later visit the Ram Raja Temple. Evening free at leisure. Overnight Orchha.

DAY 09: Orchha/Gwalior (100 kms):
Gwalior is an historical place of Madhya Pradesh is blessed with Classical Music Maestro Miya Tansen. Post lunch proceed for sightseeing which includes Gwalior Fort, Rising 100m above the town, the fort hill is about 3 km in length. Its width varies from nearly 1 kms to less than 200m. Later visit the Jain Sculptures & Sasbahu Temples. Evening free at leisure. Overnight Gwalior.

DAY 10: Gwalior/Agra (120 kms):
Drive to Agra. The city of Taj was established in 1475 by Badal Singh. Afternoon reached and check in hotel later visit Red fort Fort. Agra fort: .Fort has been commenced with Akbar in 1565 with the Emperor Akbar in 1565 and adition was made right through to thetime of his grandson Shahajhan. It is located on the bank of YAmuna river and only the Amar singh gate to the south is open, rest time at leisure. Overnight Agra.

DAY 11: Agra:
Visit the Taj Mahal, sumptuous white marble tomb, one of the most beautiful piece of Mogul art. It has been built by Shah Jahan Emperor in 17th century for his wife Mumtaj Mahal, afternoon Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb, Evening at leisure, Night in Agra.

DAY 12: Agra to Delhi via Fathepur Sikri and (265 kms)
The legend related that Akbar was without a male heir and made a piligrimage to this spot to see the saint Shaik Salim Chisti. He fore hold the birth of Akbars son. Furthermore Akbar transferred his capital to Sikiri and built a new and splendid city Hence he reign between 1570 and 1586 in Fathepur Sikiri. Evening drive directly to Intl airport to board your onward flight.
