Deo Tibba Expedition

Expedition to Mt. Stok Kangri (6153 Mts.) is a combination of high altitude trekking and a possible ascent to summit the mountain –

For acclimatization to even higher altitudes, which is necessary to attempt a mountain- as high as 6130 Mts. We trek for several days in varied altitude and we will be crossing passes as high as 5000 Mts. So we will be acclimatize during the trekking. 


A feast of scenic and ethnic diversity, the Stok Kangri Expedition is one of the Ladakh's classic Expedition, a rugged high-altitude hiking on Stok range. Begin this expedition at the famous trailhead. Along the way we pass prayer flags rippling silently in the fresh wind, and walk into small green valleys, greeted by cheery herders. We wish you a successful expedition!

Day 1:- Arrival Delhi
, Reception in airport, transfer to hotel.

Day 2 :-Delhi to Manali, (2000 m), (570 km - 16h) by Mini bus, 14 hours by Jeep Check out early morning at 5 am, breakfast on the way , Afternoon lunch stop By evening reach Manali, Hotel.

Day 3:- In and Around Manali, O/N in hotel,
After breakfast Motor bike will be provided to each individual and you will explore Manali and its surrounding with local guide. Visit Nagar castle, Roerich art gallery, Hindu Temple's and hot spring at Vashisht.

 

Day 4 :- Manali to Khanaul via Jagat Sukh (2600 m) 4h Trek
Six kms drive to the ancient capital of kullu, Ancients temples located in middle of village will be visited . Later gradual path leads through villages to the camp site. night in camp.

 

Day 5 :- Khanaul to Chhika (3300 m) 4h30  Trek
Trail goes beside river through forest of pine and mapples to the meadows of Chhikka where shepherds can be seen wiht herd of cow. Temple of snake God is located near campsite, pay the hommage to the God and wish for the best, While visitig .the temple please take off the shoes.

 

Day 6 :- Chhika to Seri (3900 m) 4h30   Trek
Easy path through boulders, pasture of wild flowers leads to Seri, a large wet meadow where campsite will be established on a side. A cascading water fall at its north east is magnificant. Camp.

Day 7 :- Preparation to the advance camp. Trek
Have stroll around the campsite to get acclimatised and prepare the baggage for next day to transfer to camp one.

Day 8 :- Base to Camp 1 (4600 m) , 6 - 7h  Easy Climbing
Short climb after a wetty meadow to the meadow carpeted with wild flower (In summer), now follow a long ridge till the foot of glacier, on its left glacier of Deo Tibba is lying and on right a small lake called Chandra tal is located in the glacier. dump the material and back to base camp.

Day 9 :- Camp 1 established. Easy Climbing

Day 10 :-Load ferry to camp 2 (5050 m) over Taintu pass, Climbing
Its a rocky terrain in begining , one might have to fix rope for about 50 mtrs, Than continue through loose rock and follow a ridge till Tainta pass, just a head camp 2 is located. In Front huge glacier of Deo Tibba, Indraassan is spreaded, One can approached to nUrbu peak and also can head toward the animal pass to Parvati valley. Back to Camp 1.

Day 11 :-Camp 2 established, and further racky for camp 3 . Climbing

Day 12 :-Camp 3 (5515 m) established. Climbing

Its a glacier walk , there wil be many hidden crevases so rope up is required, establish camp on the foot of peak .

 

Day 13 :-Summit the peak and bind up camp 3, descend to camp 2. Climbing
Its an easy climb in begining , later rocky route on left can be taken, or well ice wall on its right can be taken to reach the flat section ( glacier field ) Now summit is in front, it may required 2 to 3 hours more to reach at the top. continue through glacier field, end of the slope route get steeper, rope may required to fix and reached the summit.

 

Day 14 :-Camp 2 bind up . Climb down.
Descend to base camp directly or climb the Nurbu peak (5600 m) from camp 2, one day require and same day can be descend to camp 1, or one can approach to Indra-Asan (6100 m) from camp 2 for next 5 days.

Day 15 :-Rest in base camp.

Day 16 :-Base camp bind up to Khanaul , 5 h   Trek

Day 17 :-Khanaul to Manali, Trek
afternoon at leisure , O/N in hotel .

 

Day 18 :- Manali to Delhi :
Free visit at Manali – Afternoon night bus to Delhi, night in comfortable bus.

 

Day 19 :- Arrival Delhi
Free visit in Delhi, evening transfer to international airport for Flight to Onward destination.

One can extend the tour to golden triangle, Agra, Jaipur, Delhi for next 4 to 5 days.
