Day 1: Arrival in Shimla
Arrival at
Kalka railway station and transfer to Shimla, the former summer capital of British India. Shimla is set amidst snow-capped
Shivalik Mountains, with stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2: In Shimla
This morning you will visit
Kufri, situated at an altitude of 2500 meters and an hour’s drive from Shimla. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of Shimla and visit the
Jakoo Hills for a panoramic view of the town. Visit the
Vice Regal Lodge and walk down the
Mall Road. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Shimla to Manali (260kms)
Travel by road to Manali (274 kms/7 hrs), a picture-perfect hill resort at an altitude of 1,929 meters. It is surrounded by pine-clad mountains, and sprawls along the
Beas River. Overnight in hotel.
Day 4: In Manali
Take a refreshing morning walk around Manali. Visit the 450-year old temple dedicated to
Hadimba Devi, with its excellent woodcarvings. Visit the
Tibetan Monastery and
handicraft center. Relax for the rest of the day, OR walk to the picturesque
Vashisth Village and its
hot sulphur springs. Overnight in Manali.
Day 5: In Manali
A full day tour of
Rohtang Pass (3978 meters). Take a view of the majestic Himalayan mountains and glaciers. You have two hours to enjoy this snowy heaven. Take a sledge ride down the slopes. Try your skill at climbing the little snow hills. While descending to Manali, visit
Rahalla Falls and
Solang Valley. Feast on the magnificent views and natural beauty. Halt at
Marhi and
Nehru Kund. Return to Manali for overnight stay in hotel.
Day 6: Manali to Chandigarh (320 kms)
Morning check out from hotel. Drive to Chandigarh airport/railways station.
