Chang-Thang:

In the East of Ladakh, on the indo-Tibetan border between India and Tibet, extends the vast plateau of Chang-Thang, the area of the nomads Or Changpas. Having crossed several passes, you will discover Huge salt water lake named Tsokar, and further in the East in Rupshu, immense Lake Tsomoriri near Karzok which is the main village of Rupshu at 4572 m above the sea level. The climate is extreme: very low temperature at night and very high under a burning sun during the day. The air is very dry as eternal snow line is found at the altitude of 6000m and more.

The fauna adapted itself to the harshness of the climate. We can see Kyang, (wild donkeys) who come to graze near the lake Tsokar, much more rarely the snow leopards and also multitude of exotic birds.
