Explore the little Tibet

After exploring Manali (Kullu valley), you will drive over the Rohtang pass (4050 m), through the summer pasture of the local shepherd to the barren land of Spiti also known as Little Tibet;

The topography of Spiti is marked by high mountains and narrow river valleys with flat land being an uncommon occurrence. The rugged climate and high altitude makes the region somewhat difficult for human habitation. The great range of the main Himalayas in back ground is beautiful and refreshing. Wild life as Ibex and Thar can be seen in the herds as well as the snow wolves too.

You will explore the century’s old monasteries which belong to Tibetan Buddhism where monks practice meditation and other monastic rituals preserving old Stucco images and Thangkas depicting different life stories of Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Gelug-Pa sect, people of Spiti live with their herds of Yak, Sheep and goat; they grow Barely and other vegetables. They are hospitable and in villages still maintain the centuries old tradition. This is leisure trek, accessible for all.
