This journey starts in New Delhi but the real adventure on your Royal Enfield motorcycle starts with the snowcapped peaks of the Himalaya all around you in the lush green alpine forests of the Kullu valley, known as “The Valley of Gods”. From there we ascend to the high mountain passes of Zanskar & Ladakh known as “The land of high mountains or high mountain passes.”

You will traverse Changthang plateau located on the Indo-Tibet border, known as “The valley of the Tibetan Nomads who lives here with their herds of yak, goat and sheep to graze on these high altitude pasture land. Here you will appreciate the beauty of most amazing crystal-clear high-altitude Lakes – the Tsomoriri and Tsokar.

You will cross eight high passes of Indian Himalaya, highest all among them is Khardungla pass 5560 meters!

Day 1 – Arrive in New Delhi, India

Himalayan Frontiers representative will meet & greet you at the airport IGIA, (Indira Gandhi International Airport) and most flights arrive around midnight. Transfer with a private bus or taxi to your hotel accommodation in central New Delhi for overnight stay. night in hotel

Day 2 – New Delhi to Manali (2000m ) 570kms – 14-15 hrs.

Morning over view of Red fort, excursion through streets of old Delhi by bicycle rickshaw to exploring the spice market, visit grand mosque, after lunch drop at bus station passing by the legendary India Gate, the houses of parliament, check in to comfortable air-condition Volvo bus to Manali. You will be served a bottle of water and will have dinner stop around 9 to 10 pm. night in bus.

Day 3 – Around Manali – checking and riding your bike

Arrive Manali, Transfer to Hotel, breakfast and a short briefing on the Motorcycle Tour. After a quick rundown of road safety precautions and check of personal equipment, we will start out on the narrow adjacent road of villages into the mountains. This is your chance to get acquainted with your bike and get to know the roads. In evening we get back to hotel to have dinner and rest and relax. night in hotel

Day 4 – Manali to Jispa (3200m), 135kms 6-7 hours through Rohtang pass 3950 meters

First 35 km is nice road windings till Marhi and then we have to cross the famous traffic jam & challenging muddy road about 10 km on the way to Roh- tang pass (13,044ft). Here you catch fantastic views back towards Manali and the surrounding Himalaya! Next we descend into the Chandra Valley, stop(check point) take a “chai break” before we continue along the bank of the mighty Chandra & then after Tandi we enter in Ghar Valley along Bhaga river through the town of Keylong, have another chai break and then finally head to Jispa (Tod Valley)where we stay in the Hotel.

Day 5 – Jispa to Sarchu (4200m ) 4-5hrs. ride over the Baralachla pass 4890 meters. Namkila (4850m) & Lachulangla (5050 m)

After short ride quick stop at the police check post & and then we follow windings road until Baralachla. We cross one of the toughest passes of the journey: the Baralachala, lies at 4,890 meters and catch stunning views” Then we descend to “Bharatpur” and little further at Sarchu stop at the police check post.

The road goes through Sarchu plain, following Tserap river for a while and then take hair pin road to the top of Namkila (4850m) and to the Lachungla (5050 m), gradual descend toward gorge of Ganglajal. Keeping an eye out for Tibetan Nomads, we will ascend quickly again and emerge into an amazing high altitude valley.

After check-post at pang, take a little ascend to join the Edge of immense plateau of Changthang plateau “locally called More Plain”. Riding for about an hour take diversion to Tsokar, camp site near a huge salt water lake, night in camp.

Day 6: Tsokar to Tsomoriri (Korzok 4500m ) 90 km 6hours. Over Polokonkla (4950m) and Namstang la (4800m)

Ride over Polokonkla (4950m), A road tends to be a bit rough for some but great fun for those who appreciate off road motor biking, descend to the Puga valley, one can encounter the nomad with their flocks of sheep, Goats and yaks. Reach Sumdo village.

Instead we make our own track, riding off road and over Namstang la ( 4800m) following the numerous tracks left by passing vehicles. The last 30kms are a pain, but a boon for those who love off road riding! The track here is a mix of sand and dirt trails littered with small stones. However, the view one gets at the end of it makes it all worth it, overnight on the bank of the Tsomoriri or Korzok village.

Day 7: Tsomoriri (Korzok) to Leh (3500m): 260 kms. Over Namstang la (4800m)

We will having long ride today so it is best to start early, We back track to the Sumdo Junction over Namstang la (4800m) and from there take the diversion to reach at Mahe bridge over Indus River. Here you need to submit your permits. For the better part of today’s journey we follow the Indus River and the tarmac is in good condition for the most part, barring a few landslide prone stretches”.

Lunch stop at Chumathang, Chumathang itself has little to offer to a visitor apart from a few local roadside restaurants, a Gompa and hot water springs.

Second stop at Upshi check post to submit again your permits, here you join the Manali- Leh high way, en route visit the monasteries of Hemis, the largest monastery in Ladakh and Thiksey, built atop a rocky peak overlooking the village. Free afternoon, Overnight in Hotel in Leh.

Day 8: Leh – Alchi (3100m)– Lamayuru (3450m) 135 km 6 hours.

Ladakh is also known as the land of Lamas and monasteries – so we’ll take you to visit some of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh – The Alchi and Lamayuru. Alchi Choskar monastery, which is renowned for its architecture and ancient wall paintings. The monastery was built by the great Buddhist translator Lottsava Rinchen Zangpo. We’ll have lunch in the restaurant run by the monastery.

After lunch, road to Lamayuru, one of the ancient monastery magnificently perched on the hill . Before Buddhism penetrated in the region this site was known as a centre for Bon religion. Stroll around the monastery campus and admire the stunning beauty of landscape, night in hotel / Guest house.

Day 9: Around Lamayuru and back to Leh. (3500m) 215 kms.

Excursion around Lamayuru to explore the off-road area, Afternoon head back to Leh, You have a free evening and spend another night at the hotel. In evening visit the market.

Day 10: Leh – Khardungla-Leh 5560m 5 hours.

Today we ride to Khardung pass. This is said to be the world’s highest motor-able road – the Khardung pass at a thrilling 5560 meters 39 km from Leh!! After noon Free, visit to market, or by foot visit Shanti Stupa for a good view of Leh town and surrounding & relax till evening.

Day 11: Leh- Sarchu: (4200m.) 220 kms. over Tanglang la 5332 m, Lachulangla la pass 5,060m and Namkila 4850m.

Start early in the morning, stop at Upshi check post to submit again your permits, Further ride through Stunning gorge of multicolor hue. Rumtse is the last habitants of Ladakh from where curvy uphill ride start, altitude gain rapidly till the top of Tanglang La (5300 m), the second highest motor able pass in the world.
Smooth descend to the Moore plain to join the junction of Tsokar, Follow the sane trail till Sarchu, night in deluxe camp.

Day 12: Sarchu to Jispa (3200m) 90 kms, 4-5 hrs. over Baralachla 4890 meters

Today we climb up to Baralachala, once over the pass you’ll enjoy the breathtaking view of snow caped mountains. Descending by accompany of hanging glaciers and meandering Bhaga river till Jispa, On arrival check in hotel, evening stroll in the village.

Day 13: Jispa to Manali (2000m) 135kms, 6 -7 hrs. including the Rohtang pass 3980 meters

Today is a short but pure bliss ride of bad roads! Streams to cross, frozen puddles and dirt tracks to navigate all the way up to and back over the Rohtang pass. We’ll take our chai and lunch break at Marhi before descending back to the lush green of the Kullu valley, the sparkling Beas River and finally you are back in Manali! As it’s the last night of this adventure we’ll celebrate and party with all our new friends. Night in hotel.

Day 14: Manali to Delhi 570kms, 16 hours

You have the day to relax and enjoy more time in the hot springs, do a little shopping or perhaps book a massage” After lunch at 4:30pm you will be transferred to the bus station. This is a Deluxe Volvo Bus service from Manali to Delhi. The bus supplies bottled water and stops for dinner at around 10pm. (Each individual is responsible for the purchase of their own dinner).

Day 15: Delhi and flight to your onward destination.

On arrival at new Delhi we’ll transfer you to the hotel where you can have breakfast, shower and relax. Check in time 12 noon. It’s a free day so you can rest and relax, shop and eat or explore some of the many interesting sightseeing options, for example: Visit to Grand Minaret, Lotus temple and Humayun Tomb, or just walk in Lodhi gardens, Delhi hat and much, much more!

By evening according to the flight schedule, we will transfer you to the international airport to catch your flight to your onward destination.

Must be made to on arrival in India. You are responsible for any damage to your bike during the trip, the repair charges will be deducted from this deposit and the balance will be reimbursed once the trip is over.
Accommodation is based on Twin / Double sharing on 3 star category in cities as of Delhi, In rural charming hotels, neat and clean local standards of hotels, Fixed camps or guest houses will be provided where choices are limited. Single room will be with a supplement charges.
Indian and partly Tibetan (Ladakhi) vegetarian meals is served, Non veg is subject to availability. Indian recipes are bit on spicy side, Breakfast and dinner will be served at the hotel, Lunch packed or in local restaurant or in hotel sub. to the schedule.
You will be accompanying by a backup vehicle to assist you throughout the tour, mechanic is there with necessary spare parts.
If you have special requirement for the pillion who wish to take comfortable journey time, in that case extra vehicle can be arranged in advance sub extra Expenses.
All vehicle will be air-conditioned, except in hilly area air-condition of any vehicle cannot be regularly used due to steep uphill drive, So you have to co-operate. For the Autumns and spring season when temperature goes down, if you required heater except minibus each of those mentioned vehicle have the heating facilities and cannot be used while uphill drive.

You will be crossing several high passes, different type of road condition will be encountered vary from wet and humid in lower altitude to dry and garble road in higher altitude of Lahoul and Ladakh. You will not have any options except crossing the icy rivulets. You can face land slide not only cause of rainfall but also by higher melting rate of Snow and Ice (glacier) due to perpetual summer heat. You can be blocked for hours, day or more, you may miss the places expected to visit or will visit the unexpected places, to regulate the situation the team at the spot will do the best possible at the moment. Road in India are being widen at so many states, So please don’t compare the driving time as estimated in developed nation.

During the trip it’s possible that back up vehicle and bike can get break down or road block can cause the delay, in that case guide on the spot will do the best possible to monitor the situation. In such circumstances patience and co-operation is required.
