Day 3: At Manali
Day 4: Manali – Udaipur 2800m : 6-7 hours by road over Rohtang pass (3980mtrs.)
Day 5: Udaipur to Urgus (3300mtrs.) 3-4h.
Day 6: Urgos -Khanjar north (3685m) – 4 to 5hrs. Trek 1
Day 7: Khanjar north -Gumba Nala north (3840m) Duration: 6/7 hours. Trek 2
Day 8: Gumba Nala- North Phalpu (3985m) – 5 to 6 hrs. Trek 3
Day 9: North Phalpu -Camp I ( Mayar Glacier -4390m ) 8/9 hours. Trek 4
Day 10: Camp I -Camp II, the base of Kangla pass (4870m) 9/10h Trek 5
Day 11: Camp 11, the base of Kangla – Other side of pass (4410m) over Kang La (5450m) 10/11 hours. Trek 6
Day 12: Other side of pass – Bardan (3670m) : 6/7 hours , Trek 7
Day 13: Padum – Explore Zanskar valley, Trek 8
Day 14: Padam – kargil by road. over Pensila (4400 m). 6-7 hours.
Day 15: Kargil to Leh. Via Lamayuru 8-9 hrs. . Drive
Day 16: Visit Leh by foot , Trek 9
Day 17: Leh to Delhi , departure
Day 1: Arrive in New Delhi, India
Himalayan Frontiers representative will meet & greet you at the airport IGIA, (Indira Gandhi International Airport) and most flights arrive around midnight. Transfer with a private bus or taxi to your hotel , night in hotel.
Day 2: New Delhi to Manali, 570kms – 13/14 hour journey
Day to visit Laxminarayan temple , Sikh temple ( Gurudwara in Janpath ) If time left visit grand Minaret, evening transfer to Bus stand to board night Volvo bus to Manali. Night in bus.
Day 3: At Manali
Morning reach Manali, meeting with guide , later visit by foot to Manu temple in old Manali , Hadimba temple in middle of cedar forest , After noon free in town for those wish to buy any of necessary items or simply to mingle with Indian folk in the mall of Manali, night in hotel.
Day 4: Manali – Udaipur 2800m : 6-7 hours by road over Rohtang pass (3980mtrs.)
Drive along the Beas river through several villages to the Rohtang pass (3950m). from pass enjoy excellent view on mighty Himalayan peaks, Take down hill drive to Koksar, follow the Chandara river till Tandi and further to Trilokinath to visit the shiva temple and Udapur to visit a wooden temple dedicated to Mrikula devi. Night in guest house or n camp.
Day 5 Udaipur to Urgus (3300mtrs.) 3-4h.
Entre in to hidden Miyar valley known as valley of flower, traversing several villages either side of valley till the starting point of trek at Urgos, night in camp.
Day 6 : Urgos -Khanjar north (3685m) – 4 to 5hrs. Trek 1
Trail goes through urgos village , follow a rough motor able track till Chhaling village following a wide valley, gentle climb to a small village of Khanjar. Further steep climb through alpine pastures to a beautiful spot. night in camp.
Day 7: Khanjar north -Gumba Nala north (3840m) Duration: 6/7 hours. Trek 2
after a short walk you will cross a small river , trail leads through terraced fields. Climb toward the top marked by a chorten for a wonderful views. Continues walking through a huge meadows. Cross big Gumba nala and continue through upward to a the wide Miyar valley surrounded by Himalayan peaks , camp side near stream. night in camp.
Day 8: Gumba Nala- North Phalpu (3985m) – 5 to 6 hrs. Trek 3
Day start with gentle climb and continue through grassy meadows passing by Shepherd hut and a lake, cross several small rivulets , magnificent view of peaks and glacier, further 2 hours of walk till the camp site at the snout of Miyar glacier. night in camp.
Day 9: North Phalpu -Camp I ( Mayar Glacier -4390m ) 8/9 hours. Trek 4
As it’s a long day so leave earlier, hoping the rock you will trek through difficult moraine. Trail goes up through snow fields and moraine passing the glacial lakes, A beautiful camp site surrounded by snowy mountains will be set in a large snowfield at the glacier. night in camp.
Day 10: Camp I -Camp II, the base of Kangla pass (4870m) 9/10h Trek 5
Take early move to avoid shrinking in snow, late start can make the walk difficult , Day start with gentle climb on glacier field, sub. to winter snow fall rates , the crevasses can be found opened or covered, if opened than take more time than covered ( or Hidden ) crevasses, in both case roped up is very important to avoid risk. Camp on glacier field projecting view of snowy peaks. night in camp.
Day 11: Camp 11, the base of Kangla – Other side of pass (4410m) over Kang La (5450m) 10/11 hours. Trek 6
Leave earlier, Trail goes through middle of immense glacier filed cover with snow, after about 3 h or 3h30 of gentle slope climb roped up is required, steep cliemb for almost 1 hour or bit more, A zing -zag trail goes around the crevasses to the top of the pass, From the pass you will be mesmerize by view of stunning snow caped mountains and glistening glaciers , After a while descend following the right side downward the valley till river bank at the junction of two valleys. Camp at a small patch of meadow. night in camp.
Day 12: Other side of pass – Bardan (3670m) : 6/7 hours , Trek 7
Trail descend through rocks and scree, follow the Tema river crossing meadows of wild flowers, Since you entre in Zanskar valley landscape get arid. At the end of the trek follow a rough jeep able track for two kms till Bardan, See off the porters and take further drive to padum, Bardan gompa a top of hill can be visited sub. to time availabilities, night in camp.
Day 13: Padum – Explore Zanskar valley, Trek 8
Morning trek to Karsha located other side of Doda river, magnificently perched Monastery is of Gelugpa order dating from the XVth century. Visit Villages to have the insight of their culture, evening back to padum , night in camp.
Day 14: Padam – kargil by road. over Pensila (4400 m). 6-7 hours.
Drive early, road leads through several villages, Spectacle view of Darung-drung glacier and the whole range of Zanskar from Pensila pass. Descending to Surru valley one can take a short visit to Rangdum gompa. Further drive through Suru valley following the suru river at the beneath of Nun- and Kun peaks dominating the entire valley, Night in guest house/ hotel.
Day 15: Kargil to Leh. Via Lamayuru 8-9 hrs. Drive
We leave the Kargil and head toward Leh following the Indus valley , On the way visit famous Lamayuru monastery, night in hotel.
Day 16: Visit Leh by foot , Trek 9
Guide will take you around to explore surrounding of Leh, walk to Shanti stupa built on top at back drop of Leh town , further walk to Leh palace, descend to the center of town once a important halt for the caravan of silk route, visit the monastery in the town and rest of the time to stroll around at your own rhythm . night in guest house. End of service. See of your guide.
Day 17: Leh to Delhi , departure
Transfer to domestic airport , fly to Delhi , Visit Jama Masjid, Enjoy a rickshaw ride between Jama Masjid and over view on Red Fort. In evening, after dinner, transfer to the airport for yours onward destination. No hotels in Delhi.
