A Ride to Discover Zanskar
A thrilling getaway designed to provide you with an extreme adventure motorcycle experience. We commence from Manali into Lahaul valley through Atal Tunnel and continue to the infamous Shingo La mountain pass of the pristine Zanskar valley. we have an excursion to magestic Phugtal Monastery which is 1 hour walk each ways and continue the ride to district centre, Padam. Drang Drung glacier near Pensi-la mountain pass is another charm of the ride. while returning back we spend a night in tents at Gombo rangzom right below the Sinkula pass. Since this journey leads us on wild gravel trails, your partner may have to be in the back-up jeep while off-roading.
You’re all requested to show up at the Himalayan Country House in Old Manali to kick off the fully guided expedition from Manali and back to Manali. This entire adventure will be conducted on Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Day 02: Manali- Purney over shinkula pass (5100m): Ride -2
Day 03: Purney- Padam, visit: Phugtar Monastery 1 hr hike each way) Ride -3
Day 04: Padam: Visit Darang Drung Glacier: Ride -4
Day 05: Padam- Gombo Rangzom/ Jispa, Visit Karsha Monastery: Ride -5
Day 06: Gombo – Manali over Shinkula: Ride -6

Day 01: Reporting day in Manali: Test Ride -1
Report at manali hotel. In the afternoon you’ll visit Manu Temple, Hadimba temple & Mall road. Return back to hotel for the night Meals: Dinner Only
Day 02: Manali- Purney over Shinkula pass (5100m): Ride -2
After an early breakfast we start our journey, we ride through Atal Tunnel to Lahaul valley and further to Jispa and Darcha. We ascend to Shinkula which is 5100 meters in evelvation. Shinkula is gateway to Zanskar and we descend to the valley and ride continuously till we reach Purney Village where we stay in Home stay here for the night. Road Condition: Tarmac till the pass and off road, water crossing & rocky patches Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 03: Purney- Padam, visit: Phugtar Monastery 1 hr hike each way): Ride- 3
Before heading to Padam the subdivision headquarter of Zanskar and the main town of Zanskar, we take a hike to Phugtar Monastery which is 1 hour away from Purney. The walk is along the bank of Tsarp-chu River and so the monastery is carved at the bank. Visit the monastery and hike back till parking area and start the ride for around 2 hours to reach padam. Check-in at the guest house and rest for the night here. Road Condition: Hike for 1 hour each way & off road, rocky patches & tarmac before reaching padam Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 04: Padam: Visit Darang Drung Glacier: Ride- 4
Today after an early breakfast we ride to visit Darang Drung glacier 120kms away and will take around 3-4 hrs to reach and so for the return. It’s preferred to take packed lunch for the journey. Return back to Padam by afternoon and in the evening visit karsha Monastery if time permits, else we will visit it the next day. Night in padam. Road Condition: Mix road condition, plateau, Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 05: Padam- Gombo Rangzom/ Jispa, Visit Karsha Monastery: Ride -5
Today onwards our return journey begins and before leaveing padam we will visit Sheela waterfall and start our journey back. We spend the night in tents at Gombo Rangzom and visit Kargyak Village for the Dinner & Breakfast the next day. Night you can spend star-gazing. Road Condition: Mix road condition of tarmac, rocky patches & off road Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 06: Gombo – Manali over Shinkula: Ride- 6
We ascend to shinkula pass again and drive toward Manali. it’ll be a drive of around 4-5hrs but on the way you can visit Sissu and Solang and get induldge in the various activities. Check in at your hotel in the evening followed with dinner. Road Condition: Mix road condition of tarmac, rocky patches & off road Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 07: Free day & Evening Departure
It’s a free day to shopping and rest in Manali. Our car will drop you at bus stand in the evening for your further departure.
The cost is based on minimum 8 Riders.
