The Annapurna Base Camp trek in Nepal has a unique charm that will surely leave you spellbound. This trek is one of the most popular in the Annapurna region, offering breathtaking scenery throughout the journey. The trail takes you through picturesque rice paddies, vibrant rhododendron forests, and stunning high-altitude landscapes, with the majestic Annapurna Range in view during most of your journey. Annapurna Base Camp trek takes you to an altitude of 13,500 ft. passing through Machhapuchhare Base Camp at an altitude of 12,200 ft. The Annapurna Range offers incredible mountain vistas that are a true delight for any mountain lover. Even before the trek begins, you'll be greeted by stunning views of peaks like Machhapuchhare, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli, adding an extra layer of excitement to the journey.
During your trek to Annapurna Base Camp, you will stay in classic tea houses where delicious Nepali dishes are served. The tea houses are run by locals of the area, giving you a chance to interact with locals and know more about their culture. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek because you trek along the protected areas trail. A lot of flora and fauna species are also found in this area which will surely amaze you with the beauty it has to offer.
The approximate distance covered during the trek to Annapurna Base Camp is around 70 km. It begins from Kliyu and takes you through iconic and picturesque locations. During the trek, you can enjoy a constant view of the vast Himalayan peaks. You will trek to the Machhapuchhare Base and Annapurna Base Camp. ABC trek is a moderate to difficult grade trek and poses certain challenges, hence is an enriching trekking experience for real trekking enthusiasts.
