Day 01: Arrival in New Delhi

Himalayan Frontiers representative will meet & greet you at the airport IGIA, (Indira Gandhi International Airport) and most flights arrive around midnight. Transfer with a private bus or taxi to your hotel.

Day 02: Delhi to Shimla (1900 m): Train: 10 hrs

Depart to Shimla by train; transfer to toy train in Kalka, with the assistance of our representative. On arrival, transfer to the hotel & greeting with our expedition’s team.

Day 03: Visit Shimla

After a quick rundown of road safety precautions, you will be introduced to your bikes before setting-off on a short ride around Shimla, once the summer capital of British Raj, today the state capital of Himachal Pradesh is most known hill stations for the vacation round the year. Visit Advance Study Hall, Himachal Museum, Jakhu Hanuman Temple and short ride to Naldehra.

Day 04: Shimla to Sarahan (1920 m): Drive: 190 km 7h

Depart to Sarahan and today you will ride through spectacular road by Kufri, Narkanda & Rampur where you may visit the Padama Palace of the Royal Kinnaur family. On arrival to Sarahan, transfer to the Hotel. Visit Bhimakali temple. The temple remains a site of animal sacrifices to the goddess Bhimakali although it was once a site of human sacrifices.

Day 05: Sarahan to Sangla (3450 m), Visit Chitkul: 140 km 6h

Depart to Sangla. Ride through the beautiful and remote region of Baspa valley following the immense Sutlej River, before arriving to destination. Check in Hotel in Sangla and after an hour drive to Indo-Tibetan border village of Chitkul at 24 kms. Drive back to the Hotel.

Day 06: Sangla-Nako 120 km/6h

After passing the kinnour valley, we ride further towards the restricted area of kinnaur. Here we have to show our inner line permit to enter further in valley and to a beautiful village Nako.

Day 07: Nako-Tabo 63 km /4 h

Today we have to cross the spring calls Maling Nallah where you will see that a vast area of mountain is sinking down, where few labours & a JCB kept for all the year to clear the Rocks that almost every day falls on road. Afterwards a nice road leads till Tabo.

Tabo: – the ancient monastery. This monastery has been founded in 996 A.D .This monastery has exquisite frescoes and stuco statues and is often called the Ajanta of the Himalayas. The largest monastic complex in the Spiti has 9 temples in old section, 23 chhorten, a monks and nuns chambers. There are several caves adorned with fine frescoes and contemporary structure too. In Trans Himalayas Buddhism, Tabo sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing Monastery.

Day 08: Tabo to Kaza (3600 m)Dhankar, Lalung, Pin Valley:58 km 6h

Riding through a few Buddhist villages, we cover Pin valley National Park, Kungri, Lalung, Dankhar monastery and Evening in Kaza.

Dhankar the ancient capital of Spiti king, the most incredibly situated gompa, perched high on the barren rocky mountain slopes. As you progress, the whole Dhankar village opens up in front of you like something artificial crop up from nowhere. The sixth century Dhankar gompa, though not well preserved still has some magnificent original Thangkas and statues tucked away in dark rooms. You are advised to carry your flashlight to see some of the beautiful remaining murals. Unfortunately a part of the gompa was destroyed during the severe winter of 1989 and the repair work by local has led to the further destruction of these priceless murals.

Day 09: Kaza (3600m-46km) visit Key and Kibber (4200mtrs) 5h

Drive around kaza to Key Monastery, Kibber village, Koumic village (4500m) is the highest Village in Asia. is a beautiful gompa perched high on a pyramid like mountain, belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism and monks practicing meditation and other monastic rituals. Its main temple, the Dhunkhang, has some of the best murals, well preserved statues and Thangkas depicting different life stories of Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Gelug-Pa sect.

Day 10: Kaza – Chandertal 150 km/6 h

Ride through the beautiful village and over the Kunzum pass enjoying a breath taking Panorama of high snowcapped peak, Chandratal Lake and we follow the Chandra valley and cross some cold stream before the destination. Night in the camp.

Day 11: Chandertal -Manali 110 km/6 h

Depart to Manali. Ride down the Lahoul valley, Cross some of cold streams and drive up to Rohtang la pass, second highest of this excursion. Here you have to drive either in muddy road or in popular tourist traffic jam after crossing drive down magical carving road till Manali.

Day 12: Manali day break

This day is reserved for explore Manali; shopping, strolling around, relaxing or book a massage and perhaps for another short ride, in the area to Naggar, where we can also have lunch.

Day 13: Half day in Manali and return to Delhi by bus (16 h)

Farewell with the expeditions’ team. After Lunch depart by Volvo bus to Delhi.

Day 14: Departure from Delhi

Early morning arrival in Delhi, transfer to the Hotel (for day use). Our representative will be at your service. Possibility for some sightseeing in Delhi: Red Fort, Qutub Minar, India Gate etc., or shopping. Transfer to the IG International Airport.

The hotels are reserved and must be paid in advance; the company will apply the cancellation policies of hotels. Cancelation charge for train tickets and other ground transport and related services if needed to be booked in advance. Hence the remaining amount will be refunded after deducting all above cancelling policies applied for different services. 2: 40 Days before departure The agency will refund the 50% of paid amount to his client deducting the registration fee (€ 40 per persons or equivalent in other currency), bank charges subject to the bank policies, when booking domestic flights, the Cancellation fee subject to airline policies at present or if the tickets are non- refundable in that case the full amount of the ticket will be retained. Less than 30 days before departure The agency will be obliged to withhold the full amount of the deposit paid by the customer. In this case, the customer must inform their insurance as soon as possible and provide as much documentation to support the cancellation of trip. It is therefore h3ly advised to take out cancellation insurance to cover such expenses.
    Itinerary / hotels are sub to change in case of strike , civil war threaten , you may be will lose expected places you have prepared for but will explore unexpected and for sure will not disappointed. In case of Vehicle break down another mode of transport will be managed at the earliest possible, In that case you are requested to keep patience. And co-operate with the situation ,while travelling to rural and isolated Area replacing vehicle can take time due to lac of communication or distance to pass the message with the other vehicle those who are driving toward the nearest town or the place from where one can have telephone facilities. Or from where one can be connected by Mobile phone . Also you can be transferred by the other type of vehicle what ever is available at the moment as of local bus till you will be not having the proper mode of transport .
    The Company cannot be made liable for the consequences of weather condition, flight cancellations or delay of bus / train at destination , war or threat of civil war, strikes, industrial action, political unrest or any other force majeure, unusual or unforeseen circumstance. The company reserves the right to use alternate transport, or vary the itinerary if breakdown, sickness or any other force major. Any additional that result, such as extra hotel accommodation, flight or road transport will be on your charge and must be paid directly at the spot.     Accommodation is based on Twin / Double sharing on 3 star category in cities as of Delhi and Simla, In rural charming hotels, neat and clean local standards of hotels, Fixe camps or guest houses will be provided where choices are limited. Single room will be with a supplement charges. Indian and partly Tibetan (local meals of Spiti) Veg. and non veg, meals is served. Indian recipes are bit on spicy side, Breakfast and dinner will be served at the hotel, Lunch packed or in local restaurant or in hotel sub. to the schedule.
    You will be accompanying by a back up vehicle to assist you through out the tour, mechanic is there with necessary spare parts. If you have special requirement for the pillion who wish to take comfortable journey time to time, In that case extra vehicle can be arranged in advance sub. to the number of persons. All vehicle will be air-conditioned, except in hilly area air-condition of any vehicle cannot be regularly used due to steep uphill drive, so you have to co-operate with. For the Autumns and spring season when temperature goes down, if you required heater except minibus each of those mentioned vehicles have the heating facilities and cannot be used while uphill drive. Road-: You will be crossing two passes, highest is Kunzum pass(4590m), different type of road condition will be encountered vary from wet and humid in lower altitude to dry and garble road in higher altitude of Kinnaur, Spiti and Lahoul. you may be will not have any options except crossing the icy rivulets. You can face land slide not only cause of rainfall but also by higher melting rate of Snow and Ice (glacier) due to perpetual summer heat. You can be blocked for hours, day or more, you may miss the places expected to visit or will visit the unexpected places, to regulate the situation the team at the spot will do the best possible at the moment. Road in India are being widen at so many states, so please don’t compare the driving time as estimated in developed nation. During the trip it’s possible that back up vehicle and bike can get break down or road block can cause the delay, in that case guide on the spot will do the best possible to monitor the situation. In such circumstances patience and co-operation is required.

Make sure that your clothing should be packed in poly bag inside the back pack / duffle bag etc.
    Many metropolitan cities is India are not that much conservative, but still in certain part of cities and in rural it is better to dress conservatively, One should not try to attract attention towards themselves due to their dressing style, while entering to religious site one should take off shoes, don’t dress short and half sleeves and are required to cover the head. Mobile phones are required to be in silent mode, hugging and kissing will shock the people hence restricted in public, To be respected, respect always local culture.
    For such high altitude ride Pre-travel conditioning is required, as more you can be prepared the more you enjoy the trips. You will be sleeping at altitude of 4200m for one night and will be crossing a pass elevating 5600 mtrs. There fore light physical exercise is required. As we gain altitude slowly, so we get acclimatize naturally. And for the vast majority the slow ascent to height will produce minimum effects. The most important attribute for such a trip is positive attitude. We strongly recommend you to consult your personal Doctor before booking this tour.

    Kinnaur-Spiti are two districts lied on Indo- China border. To access Spit from Kinnaur we required to obtain special permit called ( ILP ) Inner line permit. Hence you are requested to carry printed copies of passport, visa and 4 passport size photos which enable us to save the time while issuing the permit at Recong-peo at your presence in the office of (SDM or ADM ) Sub. Division magistrate or additional district magistrate office.
