Day 1: Arrival Delhi

Day 2: Delhi —Leh : (3500 m) by Flight ,1h10. Afternoon easy acclimatization walk for 1h30h.

Day 3: Day excursion to monastery of Thiksey- Hemis — Shey.

Day 4: Leh – Phyang (3600m) (1h) and trek towards Taru (3700m) Trek , 2h

Day 5: Taru – Taru La (4200m) – Nyemo (3700m) Trek, 5h30

Day 6: Nyemo – Nie (3800m) Trek. 6h

Day 7: Nie – Likir (3600m) Trek, 5h30

Day 8: Likir – Yangthang (3600m) Trek, 5h30

Day 9: Yangthang – Hemis Shukpachan (3600m) Trek, 5h

Day 1: Arrival Delhi

Reception in airport, Direct transfer from International airport to domestic airport to take the flight to Leh. Rest of the time at airport till departure sub to the schedule of flight.

Day 2: Delhi —Leh: (3500 m) by Flight, 1h10. Afternoon easy acclimatization walks for 1h30h.

Transfer to domestic airport to take the flight to Leh over majestic Himalaya, you will be lending on 3500 mtrs. On arrival in Leh airport our colleague will transfer you to hotel, to be better acclimatise you will relax till mid-day, after lunch in hotel, leave for excursion by foot. Visit Shanti Stupa, Royal Palace built by 5th Dalailama in 17th century is look like little Potala of Lahasa, stroll in the Bazzar, night in hotel.

Day 3: Day excursion to monastery of Thiksey- Hemis — Shey.

Leave early to attend the morning ceremony in the monastery of Thiksey, A majestic monastery perched on a rocky outcrop built in the 15th century during the first wave of expansion of Gelugpa sect in Ladakh. In the entry there are painting of protective deities and the great masters of the sect. Visit the Hemis monastery, a mass of splendid architecture on a green hill has been built by the inveterate royal architect Singe Namgyal in1630. The monastery belongs to Drukpa sect of Buddhism, site is privileged for Namgyal dynasty, its mural painting represents the different divinities dated back to 18th sanctuary. There is a huge Thanka reputed to be the Largest in existence which is exhibited once in every twelve years Then way back to Shey, once the capital of Upper Ladakh before being supplanted by Leh, monastery housed rich murals painting ,well restored and represent the 18 arhats (disciples of Buddha who attained enlightenment), Evening stroll in main market of Leh , Night in hotel.

Day 4: Leh – Phyang (3600m) (1h) and trek towards Taru (3700m) Trek , 2h

Drive toward west in Indus valley , We visit the monastery of PHYANG belongs to Kagyupa order ( Red hat ) of Tibetal Budhism also called Tashi Chozang , is built on the hill dominates the village , stroll in the village, and take a short day trek to Taru. It’s a simple first day of acclimatization trek. Night in family house in Common room, toilette out side.

Day 5: Taru – Taru La (4200m) – Nyemo (3700m) Trek, 5h30

The trail climbs steeply towards the first pass of the trek, wonderful view on the desertic region of Adakh, and descends to the Umla village, pique-nique near the river side, Nyemo village. Visit village . Night in family house in Common room , toilette out side .

Day 6: Nyemo – Nie (3800m) Trek. 6h

The trail traverses Basgo, dominated by impressive ruined fortresses. And monastery was built by for the Namgyal rulers in 1680 , The monastery is situated on top of the hill towering over the ruins of the ancient town and is noted for its Buddha statue and murals. Further trek to Nie village. Night in family house in Common room, toilette out side, or in local guest house.

Day 7: Nie – Likir (3600m) Trek, 5h30

We enter in an arid and barren landscape. Once in Likkir visit majestic monastery of 7th century of Gylukpa sect ( Red hat ) located high on the top of village with its huge status of Budha dominated the village as A protecting symbol. Night in family house in Common room, toilette out side.

Day 8: Likir – Yangthang (3600m) Trek, 5h30

The route goes through two low passes, the Phobe La (3700m) and the Charatse La (3800m), opening to breathtaking views of the surrounding arid mountainscape and Yangthang with its Oasis. Night in family house in Common room, toilette out side.

Day 9: Yangthang – Hemis Shukpachan (3600m) Trek, 5h

Trail goes down til the monastery of Ridzong which is set in stunning surroundings and hidden amongst the hills. monastery is built in 1831 by known Lama Tsultim Nim, About 40 monks reside here, belongs to the Tsongkhapa order. Again uphill trek back and after a tiny pass we descend towards Hemis Shukpachan. Evening stroll in a beautiful village to meet the people and observe the yak grazing. Night in family house in Common room, toilette out side.

Day 10: Hemis Shukpachan – Temisgang (3700m) Trek 5h30

This part of the trail has been carved out from the ochre rocks into a balcony. We climb towards two passes at 4000m and arrive at Ang. Then on to Temisgang, a small hidden oasis located in the heart of grand and mineral landscape known for the production of ales and apricot Visit PAlas built in 1460 , next step to the monastery of Temisgam , Monastery house magnifique freco et statues, Now walk in the village of Tia , visit Nunnery to discover the life of women in the isolated monastery. Night in family house in Common room, toilette out side.

Day 11: Themisgam to Khaltse- Lamayuru (2995mtrs. over Bonbbongla (3850 mtrs.) 3h of trek, 1 hour of road , Trek.

Last day of trek through beautiful valley and easy climb to Bonbongla for 1.30 hours. Follow a long gentle slope to Khaltse the main high way between Leh and Srinagar. Now take road to Lamayuru, one of the ancient monastery magnificently perched on the hill . Before budhisme penetrated in the region this site was known as a Centre for Bon religion, one can participate evening Puja (ceremony ) stroll in the village. Night in guest house. Attached bath room.

Day 12 : Lamayuru to Leh via Alchi 162 kms. 6h

Drive back to Leh via Alchi, One can again attend the morning puja in the monastery , After breakfast short drive till Alchi , visit Monastery , Among the many temples, caves and stupas built in Ladakh Alchi choskor is the largest and most famous of all of them, .. built by Rinchen Zangpo ablout 990 years ago. Monastery house valuable mural painting and Thankas, leave to Leh . Night in hotel.

Day 13: Day excursion to Stok palace , villages and Spituk monastery.

Leave after early breakfast to get the better light for photography on Stok Range , Visit Stok Palace, its museum, stroll in the villages, after lunch ( packed or hot in hotel ) visit Spituk monastery and village, late afternoon at leisure . night in hotel. Family Guest house, Double room, Local guide while visiting the monastery. Night in hotel.

Day 14: Leh-Delhi, flight

Transfer to domestic airport. Flight to Delhi, transfer to hotel. Check in from 12 noon onward, Afternoon visit Laxminarayan temple, stroll in Cannaught place , India Gate. evening to buy some souvenir, Night in hotel.

Day 15: Departure

Full day visit Delhi, including, Rickshaw ride in Old Delhi, Jama Masjid 0r Grand Mosque, Outer view ( over view) on Red fort, Qutub Minar or Grand Minaret , Bhai or Lotus Temple, Have diner in city and transfer to airport, flight to onward destination. Check out hotel at 12 noon, No rooms from 12 noon onward. Room for store the bags (one room allotted for 4 persons )

    Locale houses or guest houses are built traditionally, common rooms provided in family houses, rooms are cleans and comfortable, Candle light will be provided.
    You will be served traditional way ( ladakhi ) food cooked using Eco friendly method.

    There are certain manner to follow while eating in family house , ( local tradition ) as before entering in house one have to take off shoes out of entry in house , When everyone is in side than guide will present the guest to the family, everyone will sit in row. On arrival in India generally you will be welcomed by serving the tea, Salt tea (butter tea) or sweet milk tea (Chai), you will stroll in Village to explore the village life. Before dinner local aperitif can be served those who wish.After diner tea or coffee will be served and can have the talk with family member, guide will be intermediate between family and guest. As the most of family they are farmers and they have habitude of sleep earlier and wake earlier, So we have to be very careful to not keeping them wait ( engaged ) till late night .Early morning at respected time, you will be waked up by tea or coffee, later breakfast and will leave to next destination by packed Lunch which will allows the guest to have more time on the way .
    Do not wear skimpy, short skirts and sleeveless clothes No affection in public place or should not displayed in public Tasting food from the serving spoon is forbidden. Do not sit on the Choktse (sort of table) Don’t clean the nose or spit while eating, please.
    You will be driving / trekking mostly on the mountainous regions , most of mountain streams are glacier linked , due to the high melting rate glacier can raise the water level and even in sunny day road can be damaged or bridge can be washed away.
    Itinerary / hotels are sub to change in case of strike , civil war threaten , bad weather or land slide in hill area , you may be will loose expected places you have prepared for but will explore unexpected and for sure will not disappointed. In case of Vehicle break down another mode of transport will be managed at the earliest possible, In that case you are requested to keep patience. And co-operate with the situation , Since you will be in mountain , replacing the vehicle can take time due to lac of communication , there are no telephone and communication , to pass the message with the other vehicle those who are driving toward the nearest town or the place from where one can have telephone facilities. Also you can be transferred by the other type of vehicle what is available at the moment as truck or local bus till you will be not having the proper mode of transport . Any extra cost caused due to these reasons will be on your charge and should be paid direct on the spot.
    After receiving the advance confirming the booking of your trip, the amount of the balance due upon arrival can be changed. If between the time of booking (when Himalayan Frontiers receives proof of payment of deposit) and the arrival in India, there is a difference more than 2% in the exchange rate Euro / Rupee, Himalayan Frontiers reserves the right to change its prices accordingly.
    During high season in certain destinations airlines may increase their tariff without prior information hence the proposed rates you have noticed in website ( or you may get fresh rates that includes the airfare) is subject to change till the air tickets are not assured or purchased after confirmation of the trek / tours. Between the time period of purchasing the tour/ trek and debiting the payment to company account or delay of the debiting the reservation payment if the air tickets are not purchased and same time if the airlines increase their tariff, we shall be obliged to increase the proposed cost to maintain the balance. Such circumstances of hiking the air fare may occur any time for certain destinations or date and are evitable or due to late booking of tour trek for higher seasonal period.
    It’s rare that hotelier, transporters comes to this point unless any major issue rise as of fuel price hike or tax applied by concerned authorities. Or it can happened (for the services in mountains) by interference of syndicate of field staff / Porters /and pony men in certain circumstances for the welfare of field staff. However minor differences will be bared by the Himalayan Frontiers.
