Description:

Region: Sikkim & West Bangal

Duration: 18 Days

Activity: Trekking

Season: Spring & Autumn

This trek in Sikkim, kingdom of high peaks, takes place at the foot of the 8,586 m Kanchenjunga. Sikkim is an ancient kingdom sandwiched between the Kingdom of Bhutan to the east, Nepal to the west and the Tibetan plateaus to the north. Access to Sikkim has been controlled, since its annexation by India in 1975, its original Buddhist charm has been preserved. Its oldest inhabitants, the Lepchas and the Bhotias, still maintain the old monasteries of this remote Himalayan kingdom. So let's go and discover its unsuspected riches during this trip combining discovery of the high places and twelve days of accessible and exceptional trek. This fascinating region with lush forests and high mountains is still little visited to this day, which gives the impression of discovering a land never trodden by foreigners!
The short passage through Darjeeling allows you to discover this region known for its excellent tea and to marvel at the houses with old English-inspired architecture still standing.
