Among the most holiest pilgrimage sites of Indian Himalaya are 4 sites of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Sri Kedarnathji and Sri Badrinathji are nestled in Garhwal Himalaya in Uttranchal state of. North India Referred to “Char Dham”Means the four sacred spots. Traveling to these places will not only wash away ones sin, also ensure the release from the cycle of the birth and death. Journey should starts from left to right, as starting from Yamunotri and ends up at Badrinath. This circle of the travel follows the Hindu tradition known as the parikrama.(circumference), Thousands of pilgrims, saints ( Sadhu) can be seen to paying homage in various temple’s shrine and on the bank of Gange.


Day 1: Arrival in Delhi in evening:

Day 2: Delhi / Haridwar (340m) 224km (06hrs)

Day 3: Haridwar / Barkot (205 Kms 5 – 6 hrs)

Day 4: Barkot -Yamunotri – Barkot 98 kms Drive / 41 km by jeep/ 6 kms: Trek 1.

Day 5: Barkot – Uttarkashi 1200m (Drive 82 kms, 4 hrs)

Day 6: Uttarkashi / Gangotari (3048M):(Drive 98km 5 hrs)

Day 7: Gangotri to Uttarakashi Via Harsil: Easy Trek 2

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi in evening

Day 2: Delhi / Haridwar (340m) 224km (06hrs)

Early morning Leave Delhi, afternoon reached at Haridwar, check in hotel and further visit to city of Haridwar ( literally means gate way to God ) This place is undoubtedly a kaleidoscope of Indian civilization and culture. The numerous temples dedicated to a host of Hindu gods and goddess is a major puller for the pilgrims.

According to mythologicaly belief Millions of Hindu takes holy dip in the sacred river Ganges , seeking emencipation from the worldly sins.

Leave to visit Chandi Devi.standing atop the Neel Parvat, temple built in 1929 AD by the king of Kashmir Suchat Singh. It is believed that the main statue of goddess Chandi devi was laid here in the 8th century AD by Adi Shankracharya. Back to city and Visit Hari ki pauri ghat where millions of pilgrims take their holi dip.

Evening is an unforgettable moment while ghat comes to life with singing prayers and lit up lamps along the Ganges where people in hundreds and thousands view this mesmerizing and cleansing ritual. It is believed that the one who bathes at Har ki pauri gets rid of all sins and completely cleanses their soul. Floral tributes and lit up diyas (Lamps) floating on the Ganges is the most enchanting sight one gets at this ghat. Stroll in illuminated street filled by Worship Materials while getting back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Haridwar / Barkot (205 Kms 5 – 6 hrs)

Depart from Haridwar early morning and stop for lunch on the way in Mussoorie. On arrival check in at the hotel for overnight stay. Not much to see cause its an halt before reaching to Yamunotri.

Day 4: Barkot -Yamunotri – Barkot 98 kms Drive / 41 km by jeep/ 6 kms, trek 1.

Start early to leave for Hanuman Chatti (drive 42 kms). Further to Janki chati by Local Jeep , Road end here and take a walk ( trek ) of 6 kms On arrival at Yamunotri pray at the temple to pay the homage to the Goddess Yamunotri, and take a holy Achman to start your most sacred pilgrimage to Char Dham. Trek back and reach by evening at Phool Chatti , overnight at the Hotel.

Day 5: Barkot – Uttarkashi 1200m (Drive 82 kms, 4 hrs)

After a relaxed breakfast, leave for Uttarkashi, a drive of 82 kms. Enroute visit Prakateshwar Cave, on arrival Uttarkashi check in at the hotel , evening visit Vishwnath and Shakti Temple at its opposite where a 6 metres high Trishul ( trident ) erect in the middle has great significance in Indian Mythology , Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Uttarkashi / Gangotari (3048M):(Drive 98km 5 hrs)

Drive 80 Kms through up-stream to scintillating river Bhagirathi, Winding shady roads swinging conifer trees and beautiful Himalayan hamlets. On the way stop at Gangnani ,The place is notable for its thermal springs. Close by is a temple dedicated to sage Parasara, father of Veda Vyas. Afternoon reach Gangotrai.

Gangotri offers scenic splendors of rugged terrains, gushing water of Bhagirathi River and snow clad peaks. The place holds great importance amongst Hindus. Temple here was built in the early years of the 18th century and emits a highly pious aura. Religious rituals are in full swing in the Gangotri temple with the Arti ceremony performed by the pujaris of the Semwal family. night in Gangotari or in Harsil.

Day 7: Gangotri to Uttarakashi Via Harsil, Easy trek 2

Today you will take an easy walk to visit a typical village, explore the village life , meet the local people, You will appreciate their architecture and their authentic way of life . Further drive to Uttarakashi, evening at leisure, night in hotel

Day 8: Uttarkashi / Gaurikund via Gupat kashi (1981m): (258Km 9hrs)

Drive 258 km (09hrs) to Gaurikund via Rudrprayag the confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini river. Follow the Mandakini valley accompanying by the Chaukhamba peak as sentinel, adorned by terraced filed and hanging villages to Guptakashi , Visit ancient Gupatakashi temple complex with two water sources in front representing Gange and Yamuna, from here lord Shiva went incognito from Pandawas of Mahabharata. Visit temple and pay homage to mighty lord, Further to Gaurikund where Parvati meditated for hundreds of year to win a consort of the Lord Shiva. visit temple of Gauri ( Goddess Parvati ) and Gaurikund or hot spring , it is believed that Goddess Gauri used to take bath here.

Day 9: Gaurikund / Kedarnath (3584m): 14 km Moderate Trek. 3

14 km gradual trek to the “Royal Abode of Lord Shiva” Kedarnath through Mandakni Valley, temple is situated in the rampart of 6950m. high Kedarnath peak. In the evening visit to the temple to feel and smell Hindu culture alive, overnight at tourist bungalow / or in simple lodge. Kedarnath Temple: Kedarnath is one of the holiest Hindu pilgrims of India with Lord Shiva as its residing deity. This holy site is situated at the foot of imposing snow bound Himalayan peaks. The temple here was built by Adi Shankaracharya in the early 8th century is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of India and the main temple of Panch Kedar.

Day 10: Kedarnath/Gaurikund / Rudrapriyag – (1982m) 74 km

Early morning After visiting the temple one can trek for 3 kms walk ahead of Kedarnath to the foot of Chorabari Bamak Glacier which form the pristine lake of Chorabari Tal and reflects the gigantic Himalayan peaks in it . Later trek back to Gaurikund, Take a drive of 80 kms to Rudrapryiag ,

Visit the temple of Rudraprayag where Lord Shiva emerged in his Rudra Avtaar to bless Narad who was worshipping the lord to master the art of music. Further to the temple of Augustmuni where saint Agastya meditated for several years. Temple is known for its architecture, You can appreciate the stone carvings on it .Night stay in hotel.

Day 11: Rudrapriyag / Badrinath (3096m): 156 kms

Breathtaking road leads via Joshimath (Jyotrimath), winter seat of the Rawal Sahib of the Badrinath shrine, after lunch further drive via Vishnuprayag- the confluence of Dhauli Ganga (flows from Niti valley) and Alaknanda. Afternoon arrival to the home of Lord Vishnu is the most pious pilgrim center of the Hindus. The beautiful temple with back ground of Neelkanth Parvat in the shape of pyramids is believed to be set up in 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya. Evening visit temple shrine along with natural thermal springs where Pilgrims refresh themselves before entering the temple and witness grand Arti, overnight in hotel.

Day 12: Badrinath / Joshimath/ Hike to Auli for Nanda Devi Darshan:. 43 km

Drive back 40 kms to Joshimath and take a bifurcation of 12 kms to Auli , Further an hour easy trek in lush winter ski slope of Auli to witness the Goddess mountain of mighty Nanda Devi worshiped as protecting deity that dominate the entire valley and other mountains around above 6 to 7 thousands mtrs in angle of 360 degree can be seen , Overnight in hotel ( charming guest house ) at Johimath.

Day 13: Joshimath-Rishikesh- 6-7 hours. 252 km

Drive 252 kms to Rishikesh, Same way back till Devpryag , the confluence of Alakanada and Bhagirathi, pay homage at the confluence to the goddess Gange and further drive along with Gange till Rishikesh.

Rishikesh is the abode of saint and sages which is known for the Yoga and meditation centre in the world , while having evening stroll in the city you will visit some of Hindu temples and will mingle in the pilgrims folk , visit some of Ashram where people lives in comes from the world wide to seek the peace of mind. Evening attending the ritual ceremony is a great attraction, hundreds of pilgrims gather here on the bank of Gange to participate the ceremony and to float the lit up lamps in the river, pay your last homage of the trip to the mother Gange, night in hotel.

Day 14: Rishikesh – Haridwar to Delhi, 244 kms. Departure

Train or Vehicle to Delhi, visit the Kutub Minar, Jama Masjid, out skirt of Red Fort. evening transfer to the airport for onward destination. No hotels in Delhi. End of service.

Less than 30 days before departure The agency will be obliged to withhold the full amount of the deposit paid by the customer. In this case, the customer must inform their insurance as soon as possible and provide as much documentation to support the cancellation of trip. It is therefore h3ly advised to take out cancellation insurance to cover such expenses.

In case of Vehicle break down another mode of transport will be managed at the earliest possible, In that case you are requested to keep patience and co-operate with the situation, while travelling to rural and isolated area replacing vehicle can take time due to lac of communication or distance to pass the message with the other vehicle those who are driving toward the nearest town or the place from where one can have telephone facilities. Indian vegetarian meals is served, Non veg is strictly forbidden due to religious mater.     Due to wide range of temperature and climate conditions, it is advisable to bring appropriate clothing. For protection against cold a layered clothing is better than a few thick ones, so choose your cloths accordingly. Cloths should be preferable be made from natural materials which allow the body to breath better. You will be offending people if you walk around in skimpy or tight fitting clothes. Although there are normally opportunities to wear shorts, it is strictly forbidden to be with short in any religious places as monasteries and temples. We would advise women to wear shirts or loose trousers, men should not wear singlet. Make sure that your clothing should be packed in poly bag inside the back pack / duffle bag etc.
    Many metropolitan cities is India are not that much conservative, but still in certain part of cities and in rural it is better to dress conservatively, One should not try to attract attention towards themselves due to their dressing style, while entering to religious site one should take off shoes, don’t dress short and half sleeves and are required to cover the head. Mobile are required to be in silent mode, hugging and kissing will shock the people hence restricted in public, To be respected ,respect always local culture.
    During this trip you will be visiting highly revered religious sites, where in morning and evening daily ritual is practiced, Holy bath are taken by pilgrims, spiritual chant are sang and different sort of offers are immersed to the Gange or to the ideal at the shrine .
