Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, Kuari Pass is a sight for the sore eyes. If you are a beginner, then this would be the right one to start with. On the way, there you will cross the beautiful forests with blooming oak & rhododendron trees. The region gives a magical view of the snow-clad peaks of Mount Nanda Devi, Dronagiri & some other peaks too. It is used extensively by the local shepherds. The trek duration is around 6 days which involves enough time for sightseeing. From Devprayag to Bhagirathi, the Alakananda confluence, the trek to Kuari Pass winds up at Haridwar after you reach there via Joshimath, the same route you took to reach Kuari Pass top.
Day 2: From Joshimath To Chitrakantha
Day 3: Trek From Chitrakantha To Tali Top
Day 4: Trek From Tali Top To Kuari Pass Via Khullar And Trek Back To Tali Top
Day 5: Trek From Tali To Joshimath Via Auli /Via Same Route
DAY 6: Drive From Joshimath To Haridwar
After the pickup from Haridwar Railway Station (Only if you book transportation with us) , we will begin our journey towards Joshimath. While capturing the beautiful views and stopover at Devaprayag, to witness the holy confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers. The road goes along hugging the mountain side and you see the forests and valleys of Garhwal below you. Then we will reach Joshimath and stay there overnight. Note: You need to report at Joshimath by evening on day 1 if not opt for Sharing/private cab with us .
Day 2 begins with a short drive towards Dhak village which is around 11 km from Joshimath. Dhak Village has few grocery stores and some dhabas as well. The trail goes through a series of level walks and gradual ascents along farms. Look below to watch the Dhauli Ganga River force its way to the nearby hydro power plant. Follow the trail to cross dense forests of oak, deodar, and rhododendrons. At the end of the descent is Chitrakantha, our first twilight camping site. This is an impressive snow-capped ridge with views of the Chaukhamba peak.
e will start our day early with little warm up & acclimatization followed by a wholesome breakfast. An interesting and magnificent trail taking you through dense mountain forests filled with rhododendrons, spruce, and silver birch before reaching a prominent ridge. The forest is so dense that hardly any sunlight reaches in. The Tali forest camp is around 40 minutes ahead on this trail. The campsite is located right in the middle of the forest, with a stream flowing close by. You are surround by tall trees on all sides.
Now this is going to be a strenuous day so, be prepared. We have a long way to go towards Khullar and to savour the mystic views of the imposing Himalayas, we will traverse over snow-filled patches to arrive at Kuari Pass. WE will be greeted by the gushing chilled wind waves. Gushing chill top winds greet you here. But the adversity is barely a hindrance for the view of the towering Nanda Devi Peak from here is truly phenomenal. We will be then surrounded by an unending wall of mountains. On the way find the Rishi Ganga River force on its way from the only available outlet to meet River Alaknanda. Spend quality time here. Prepare for a return trek to Tali Top along the same path and settle down under warmth of twilight camping.
On day 5th we will follow the downhill trail alongside the Rishi Ganga River. Arrive at a motorable road and board vehicle to reach Joshimath. Along the way pass by Auli, a popular hill station and a very renown skiing destination. During winter months, you could also opt for a skiing experience here. Finally, overnight stay at Joshimath.

Trekking such long distances in high altitudes requires a lot of energy. Our cooks on the trek provide you with as nutritious food as possible. But it should be remembered that a lot of ingredients need to be carried on such high altitudes and it is only human to forget something. We request our members to keep an open mind and enjoy the best of what we can provide.
Let’s look at few food habits you need to follow while trekking:-
Breakfast is the first meal of the day before the beginning of the trek. Complex carbs break down and release energy slowly. This keeps providing you with a constant source of energy throughout the day. Drink at least 4-5 litres of water daily. (mix ORS in water which will maintain the water level) Granola Bars for post-lunch fatigue. (Optional) Trail mixes and granola bars of nuts and whole grains can be used to tackle post lunch fatigue which usually happens 2-3 hours after lunch. They are a good source of carbohydrates and vitamins. Electrolytes for rehydration. Towards the end of the trek, the body becomes dehydrated and depleted of salts and ions through sweating. Electrolytes like ORS should be consumed mixed with water to recharge the body. Carry multivitamin tablets for complications arising due to vitamin deficiency.(optional) Consume hot liquids at night to keep your body warm. (We provide soup at bed time at times )Strictly Avoid alcohol ,It’s prohibited during trek .If we found any banned drugs ,You will sending back instantly and we have rights to file a complain for the same . It is a common myth that alcohol keeps you warm in cold climate,Please avoid it .It makes you susceptible to hypothermia, makes your breathing shallow and accelerates altitude Avoid non-vegetarian food.Non-vegetarian food should be avoided as proteins take a lot of time to digest in high altitudes and cause various gastrointestinal complications. Eggs can be consumed in small quantities. (we do provide boiled eggs at times) Drinking water is not readily available in hills and hence the trekkers are advised to use water wisely and fill their water bottle every time when crossing or walking nearby the river or water springs .
Women safety is paramount. There have been no cases of eve-teasing on our treks. Generally Gender Ratio is 6:4 (M:F)
Our treks are conducted with keeping safety in mind. All the proper gears are provided, the guides are well experienced with the route and the Himalayan terrain.
