The trek around revered kinner kailash parikrama starts from Thangi village with gradual path in beginning, Than follow a narrow gorge and steady climb marked by zig-zag trail, traversing the summer pasture land and glacier field filled by moraine and boulders, with some debris of glaciers around till mighty Charang pass. Once at the pass extensive view of surrounding Himalayas is await.
From pass long and sheer descend high over the valley floor till Chhitkul , the last village of scenic Baspa valley toward Indo- Tibet border. You will appreciate stroll in the villages that houses temples and forts which witness the typical architecture of Kinnaur.
Its an arduous trek, trekkers required to be physically fit and having minimum of trekking experience in Himalaya.
Kinner Kailash mountain “ abode of Shiva ” Located on Indo –Tibet border where free access to foreigner is restricted, therefore inner line permit is required from the concern authority.
For Hindu and Buddhist to perform a Parikrama is to circumambulate a holy place , as temple, lake’s and mountains . Traditionally this parikrama is a long journey by foot. Best time of parikrama is Aug on the Hindu day of Janam Ashtami ( Birth day of Lord Krishna ) however trek is feasible from end of June till October.

Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrive Dehli,
Reception at the air port, transfer to hotel, O/N in the hotel .
DAY 2: Delhi – Chandigarh – Shimla (1900m), 140 km
Kalka Shatabdi -12011 -Dep. Delhi 7.40 Arri.Chandigarh- 11.05 am. Early morning, departure by train to Chandigarh, a modern city in India which is designed by Le Corbusier ( a Swiss-French Architecture ) . Visit the extraordinary Rock Garden , later drive to Shimla , Once the summer capital of British Raj. Presently is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh and one of known hill station of India. Evening stroll in town to mingle with Indian folk and feel the nostalgie of Victorian era. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: Simla to Sarahan (1920m) 190 km.
After breakfast, drive via Kufri, Narkandha and descend to the Rampur , erestwhile Himalayan kingdom of Rampur Busheher Continue to Sarahan the summer capital of the Rampur Busheher. The Visit 1500 years old temple of and one gets a magnificent view of the Shir Khand peaks.This temple is about. O/N in camp .
DAY 4: Sarahan to Recongpeo –Kalpa 2290mtrs ) Guest house / Camp.
Recongpeo the distt headquarter of Kinnaur . A monastery is built on the top of the town ; the majesty of the Kinner Kailash mountain is in direct vision from Kalpa : this is regarded as one of the mythical abodes of Lord Shiva. Vsit Temple and village of Kalpa, night in hotel
KINNAUR: Kinnaur is one of the most scenic but less known distt of Himachal Pradesh, located on the Indo-Tibet border. It is surrounded by Tibet to the east, Garhwal Himalaya to south, Spiti valley to the north and Kullu to the west. The Sutlej river, which rises on the southern slopes of Kailash Parvat near Mansarovar in Tibet flows through the Kinnaur valley. Most of the land and desolate countryside compare to the Ladakh region, areas from Losar to Simla are lush and green. Due to the proximity of Kinnaur to Tibet, the life style and religion of its inhabitants had been influenced by Buddhism, mostly in the northern and central regions, although the majority of the people practice Hindu.
Day 5: Recongpeo- Kalpa
Leave to of Kothi village located on old trade route between India and Tibet, visit temple dedicated to the goddess Devi Chanadika, an exceptional architecture and beautiful sculpture.
Short drive to the Chini village dwell by friendly people. The name Chini being a reference to the former trade route of Indo-China.
The architectural style is a joyful fusion and you will leave amazed by how two cultures, Hindu and Buddhist, blend harmoniously in this country, making it impossible to tell where one stops and where the other begins. Next visit to a small Gompa (Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar Monastery) in the middle of the village. This monastery was founded by Rinchensang-po (950-1055 AD). Overnight in a hotel.
Day 6: Recongpeo to Thangi-Lamber ( 2896 mtrs ) 12 kms . Trek , 2h
Drive to Thangi the starting point of the trek, Visit to the village, further short gradual trek of about 2hours for acclimatization starts along with stream till beautiful campsite of Lamber. Night in camp.
DAY 7: Lamber to Charang ( 3500mtrs ) 12 kms.Trek, 5-6h
Trek through different terrain via Surting , Following stream and forest , Camp site near shepherd house .Night in camp.
DAY 8: Charang to Lalanti ( 4421 mtrs) 11 kms . Trek, 6h.
Uphill trail through small valley till Lalanti , Its a beautiful campsite on large meadow filled with varieties of wild flower. Night in camp.
DAY 9: Lalanti to Base of Charang ( 4550 mtrs ) 6 kms . Trek
Trail goes through Moraine and massive boulders upward till base camp, camp on glacier field on moraines. Night in camp.
Day 10: Base to Chhitkul over Charang pass ( 4950 mtrs ) 9 kms,Tek
Two hours steep track over rocky gravel terrain till pass. Enjoy stunning view of surrounding Himalays from the pass. Following a long and sheer descend high over the valley floor till Chhitkul , the last village of Baspa valley on old hindustand –Tibet trade route. Take stroll in the villages to have interaction with local. Night in camp or in guest house.
Day 11: Chitkul to Sangla 2700m– Rampur
Drive through Baspa valley, one of the most scenic valley of Himachal to the charming village of Sangala dominated by towering Kamru fort with elegant wooden balcony. Fort once was the capital of princely state of Bushehar which house the shrine of Goddess Kamakhya in inner sanctum.
Drive to Rampur, R houses the remains of the former Himalayan kingdom of Rampur Bushahr and offers a rare vision of the customs, religion, art and architecture of its inhabitants. night in hotel
Day 12: Rampur to Shimla
Follow the same road till Simla, evening free at your own rhythm , night in hotel.
Day 13: Shimla to Delhi by train or by night bus , 470 km. O/N in hotel.
Morning transfer to railway station, reached in Delhi by evening. Or spend day in Simla , take night bus and reached early morning at Delhi.
Day 14: Departure
Day at leisure in Delhi, check out time is 12 noon, evening transfer to International airport for onward flight .
